FT: Lincoln 2-7 Liverpool. Klopp's second-string storm into a round four meeting with Arsenal after a complete thrashing of the League One side.
Three minutes added. Lincoln want this over now.
Just the SEVEN for Liverpool then! Not a bad second string for Jurgen there.
- GoalDivock OrigiLiverpool
GOAL! Minamino feeds Origi as Liverpool break at pace. The forward wastes little time in firing a low shot under Palmer. The keeper should have had that.
Liverpool will host Arsenal in round four next week - they also meet the Gunners in the PL in L4 on Monday night.
A right-wing Liverpool free kick comes to nothing. It's not quite been so productive for the Reds in this half. Everything they hit appeared to fly in during the first 45.
Liverpool are gently probing for goal No.7. Lincoln's tired legs giving it one more push.
Ten to go... Still plenty for Liverpool to attack for. Hat-tricks and a Jota debut goal to note just some. Lincoln would love to get the score a bit more respectable too.
Lincoln work a good opening down the right, but it's well defended at the near post. Liverpool's concentration has dipped as this half has gone on. The game has been won for some time and van Dijk went off too.
CLOSE! Jota drills inches past Palmer's right-hand post.
- OffXherdan ShaqiriLiverpool
- OnNaby KeïtaLiverpool
LIVERPOOL CHANGE: Shaqiri off, Keita on.
Replays showing Neco Williams was caught by an elbow off the ball by Archibald. Possible red there.
This chap has had a fine night. Can he cap it with a hat-trick?
Fabinho fizzes a low free kick just past the far post.

Eyoma booked for tumbling Minamino just outside the area.

LINCOLN CHANGE: Archibald on, Anderson off.

GOAL! Montsma powers a left-wing corner in off the bar after Adrian was caught in no man's land.
- GoalMarko GrujicLiverpool
GOAL! Grujic fires a low shot into the far corner that Palmer can't quite get down to keep out.
Tsimikas fires well wide after joining the attack on cue to take aim from Shaqiri's clever pass through the legs of a defender.
- GoalAdetayo EdunLincoln City
GOAL! The home side have pulled one back! Edun slots a neat finish into the far corner after a tidy move down the left opened Liverpool up.
- OffLiam BridcuttLincoln City
- OnTom HopperLincoln City
LINCOLN CHANGES: James Jones off, McGrandles on ... AND ... Bridcutt off, Hopper on.
By bringing Jota on, Liverpool just made their team stronger too! Meanwhile, Eyoma stabs tamely wide after reacting first to a right-wing free kick.
- OffHarvey ElliottLiverpool
- OnDiogo JotaLiverpool
LIVERPOOL CHANGE: Jota on for his LFC debut in place of Elliott.
Al hands to the pump for the Imps. Liverpool press for a sixth. Elliott goes down in the box, but the referee isn't interested. That looked like a good shout to be fair.
Lincoln have shown a bit more going forward in this half, but Adrian has been up to the task so far.
Chances at both ends. Adrian thwarts Lincoln twice before a lightning break sees Origi and Minamino go close for the away side.
That's a dreadful start to the half for the hosts. No let up from Liverpool!
- GoalTakumi MinaminoLiverpool
GOAL! Minamino follows up to tap home on the volley after Palmer had blocked Elliott's shot.
- OffVirgil van DijkLiverpool
LIVERPOOL HT CHANGE: Van Dijk off, Fabinho on.

- End of 1st Half
HT: Lincoln 0-4 Liverpool.
VIDEO: Jones nets the visitors' third and his first of the night.
Liverpool are running riot here. Jota could well be coming on in the second half too. Going to be a long, long evening for Lincoln at this rate.
- GoalCurtis JonesLiverpool
GOAL! Another delightful finish. Jones spins his man, turns another and curls a deflected shot into the far corner.
Now it's Harvey Elliott's turn to take aim, but his low 20-yard shot is pushed away at his left-hand post by Palmer.
- GoalCurtis JonesLiverpool
GOAL! Curtis Jones curls a smart shot into the far corner from Origi's clever header down.
Lincoln work another short corner from the left. Melbourne drives to the byline and clips in a lovely cross that Eyoma can only nod over on the stretch.
VIDEO: Minamino makes it two.
Minamino catches a headed clearance with super volley, but it's deflected just wide!
Adrian dives to his left to tip Jones' driven cross-shot past the post after a quick free kick into the left of the box caught the visitors out.
- GoalTakumi MinaminoLiverpool
GOAL! Minamino curves an exquisite shot into the far corner after Montsma's poor ball out of defence was immediately pounced upon by Shaqiri.
Jones takes a super first touch to control Tsimikas' cross, but can't keep it on target.
VIDEO: Watch out for the Shaq attack
SHAQ STAT: That was Shaqiri's first goal since Liverpool's 5-2 PL win over Everton in December 2019.
GOAL! Shaqiri sizzles a stunning free kick into the top corner from just outside the right edge of the Lincoln penalty area.
Liverpool are stroking the ball around with plenty of confidence. The hosts are struggling to get out of their own half at present.
Tsimikas marauds down the left. The Greek exchanges a one-two with Shaqiri before firing in an arcing cross that Palmer is able to claim.
RANDOM STAT: Lincoln are Liverpool’s 69th different opponent in the League Cup.
So, Liverpool have handed a bow to summer signing Kostas Tsimikas while 19-year-old Rhys Williams also gets a debut alongside Virgil van Dijk in defence. Diogo Jota could make it a trio of maiden outings if he comes off the bench.
STAT via OPTA: This is the first competitive meeting between Liverpool and Lincoln since the 1960-61 season, when Liverpool won home and away against the Imps in Division Two. Overall head-to-head: Liverpool 13 wins, Lincoln 5 wins, 5 draws.
- 1st Half
KICK OFF! Liverpool get this EFL Cup tie up and running.
Lincoln midfielder James Jones: “It’s what you want as a player, to test yourself against the best and Liverpool are the best in the country at the moment – by quite some distance I’d say as well... It will be a top night for us.”
More from Appleton on his appreciation of Klopp: “I'm saying this as a Manchester United fan, the work he’s done at that football club is outstanding. People talk about Pep and Klopp and Mourinho. In my eyes, we’ll be coming up against the best manager in the world. It’s going to be a test, but one I’m looking forward to. It’s opportunity for the players to test themselves against the best in the country.”
Liverpool were busy in the transfer market last week, but what about the latest rumours? We've got you covered with today's gossip via our Euro Papers video.
Liverpool goalkeeper, Adrian: “They're going to play like it's the last game of their lives, for sure. It's the game of the season for them. Imagine Liverpool is coming to your stadium – empty stadium, but it's your stadium – you want to defend there. Obviously they're going to show that desire to win. But I think we have to at least match that desire and then show our quality that we have.”
Liverpool assistant manager, Pepijn Lijnders: “I said already last year, in these competitions is a great moment where you can combine experience with talent, which makes each other stronger; the fire of the young players, the risk of the young players, the bravery.”
Lincoln boss, Michael Appleton: “It’s going to be a great occasion for everybody at the club. They’re full of talent. Even their second team is a side you wouldn’t mind looking after every week. We’ll give it our best shot. We’ll have to work as hard – if not harder – than we did on Saturday (in the 2-1 victory away to MK Dons). And make sure when we get opportunities – if we get opportunities – that we take them.”
The winner of this tie will host Arsenal in round four after the Gunners saw off Leicester last night.
Lincoln come into this clash having won both of their League One matches so far this term, including a 2-1 success at MK Dons on Saturday. The Imps have also come through two rounds in this competition on their travels, edging out Crewe 2-1 before routing Bradford 5-0.
The only match they didn’t win in normal time was at home to Scunthorpe in the EFL Trophy. However, they did triumph 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
