FULL TIME: Real Madrid 9 (NINE) Granada 1.

One minute of stoppage time to be played at the end of the second half.

GOOOOOOOOOOAL! Real Madrid 9 (89 mins - Cristiano Ronaldo) Granada 1. This is getting silly now! Ronaldo has FIVE! This time he heads home at the far post from a Modric freekick.

That was a good save from Casillas, who despite the scoreline has been called upon once or twice. He got down well to make the stop at his near post from Eddy. See, he's not totally terrible.

Real Madrid have just three minutes of normal time left to break into double figures. Having got this far I'll be disappointed if they don't make it into double figures. What a let down.

Ronaldo misses another big chance. He should have more than four by now. This time he fails to make contact on a cross into the box, when he should have at least hit the target.

This is now the biggest margin of victory in La Liga this season. Real Madrid have been in complete control, and the scary thing is that they quite easily could have had so many more.

GOOOOOOOOAL! Real Madrid 8 (83 mins - Diego Mainz) Granada 1. And there's the eighth. Mainz sends the ball into his own net as he tries to cut out a Marcelo pass across the box to Ronaldo.

Bale took the last freekick, and I suspect the Welsh winger will take the next one. He's much more consistent from dead balls than Ronaldo, who seems to have lost his knack for them this season.

Hernandez is fouled 25 yards, giving Ronaldo the chance to line up a freekick that falls well within his territory. However, the Real Madrid number seven lashes his effort well wide of the target.

Real Madrid haven't scored a goal in 24 minutes. They are due another. The changes made by Ancelotti has hindered their momentum, but this game was won in the first half.

Bale probably should have scored Real Madrid's eighth. Ronaldo set up his teammate for the shot on the edge of the penalty area, but Oier tips the effort over his own crossbar.

That was ambitious from Ronaldo. He took a cross down before shooting at goal on the spin, but he didn't have enough control on he effort and the the ball flashes over the crossbar.

That's really the first time Granada have even dared attacking, and Real Madrid were found out. Ramos let in Ibanez, with Varane nowhere to be seen. He was looking for a goal!

GOOOOOOAL! Real Madrid 7 Granada 1 (75 mins - Robert Ibanez). The away side have a consolation goal to treasure. Ibanez breaks in behind the Real defence and squeezes his shot underneath Casillas.

This really could have been double figures for Real Madrid. They have had well over 30 shots on the Granada goal, and have missed a number of clearcut opportunities in this second half.

And there's another chance for Ronaldo to score. Marcelo picks out the number seven wih a raking pass, but Ronaldo puts his shot wide of the post as he went for it on the stretch.

Ronaldo should have scored a fifth, and an eighth for Real Madrid. Bale exchanges passes with the Portuguese, sending him clear through, but he somehow sticks his shot wide of the near post.

How didn't he score? Marcelo sends a wonderful cross into the Granada box for Hernandez to attack, but the on loan Manchester United striker somehow heads straight at the keeper.

That certainly wasn't far away from Bale! The Welshman strikes a freekick from the edge of the box towards goal, but he can only find the side netting. Much of the home crowd thought that was in!

Ronaldo probably should have had a fifth. He gets in behind the opposition backline to latch on to a Bale through ball, but to his credit Oier comes out quickly to smother his shot from close range.

There will be no hat trick for Benzema, as he is withdrawn by Ancelotti. On comes Hernandez in his place, who has been speaking recently about how his confidence has hit rock bottom this season.

Real Madrid sub: Karim Benzema OFF, Javier Hernandez ON.

Ancelotti decides not to risk James any further, and replaces the Colombian with Jese. Does that mean that Bale will move into a more central position, as he does with the Welsh national team?

Real Madrid sub: James Rodriguez OFF, Jese Rodriguez ON.

So what will Real Madrid declare at here? They have been unstoppable, with Granada putting up little fight. This could be double figures. In fact, I would be surprised if it's not double figures.

Ancelotti has started making changes with an eye on his side's packed schedule. But Ronaldo will stay on. He could build a lead in the race to finish ahead of Messi as La Liga top scorer.

Real Madrid sub: Toni Kroos OFF, Asier Illarramendi ON.

GOOOOOOOOOAL! Real Madrid 7 (57 mins - Karim Benzema) Granada 0. This getting outrageous now. Benzema takes another down on his chest and squeezes home a finish via a deflection.

Bale has been acussed of being selfish many times this season, but nobody could claim as much with that goal. He could have scored himself, but squared for Ronaldo, who had the simple task of finishing into the empty net.

GOOOOOOOOOAL! Real Madrid 6 (55 mins - Cristiano Ronaldo) Granada 0. There's another. Bale gets in behind the Granada backline and crosses for Ronaldo to head home his fourth of the game.

This has been a sensational return to first-team action for James. The Colombian has looked fit and has contributed two assists in just over 50 minutes of play. He's enjoyed himself this afternoon.

Benzema has bee trying to do that all game. He has tried to take a number of crosses down on his chest, but this time he gets the execution right. What tecnique for that goal! Exceptional.

GOOOOOOOOAL! Real Madrid 5 (51 mins - Karim Benzema) Granada 0. This is a rout from Real Madrid! Benzema takes down a corner kick on his chest and volleys home with aplomb. What an excellent goal.

Now Modric, who has been very impressive in the centre of midfield, fires off an effort at goal, but his effort flies over the crossbar when he probably should have passed out to Bale.

That was the wrong option from Ronaldo. He should have cut inside but he goes on the outside and tries to beat Oier at his near post. There just wasn't enough for him to aim at.

Of course, reports that Real Madrid will target Manchester Unied's David De Gea in the summer persist, although Petr Cech's name has also been mentioned a few times. They're on the look out for a new keeper.

That was close to a mistake from Casillas. Rochina fires off a shot at the Real Madrid goalkeepr, with Casillas fumbling. Thankfully for him, he gathers at the second attempt. Phew.

Of course, Real Madrid face Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals of the Champions League not next week, but the following week. That tie could define their season. It will be huge.

Ancelotti has refrained from making any changes at the break, which is perhaps surprising given the number of important games Real Madrid have coming up over the next few weeks.

So how many more can Real Madrid score in this second half? Ronaldo scored three in eight minutes towards the end of the first half. That doesn't bode too well for the away team.

The second half is under way at the Santiago Bernabeu! Real Madrid are 4-0 up against Granada.

What did you make of the first half? How much of a difference has the return of James made to Real Madrid? Should Oier have done better with Ronaldo's goals? Tweet me!

HALF TIME: Real Madrid 4-0 Granada. The home side have been unstoppable. Ronaldo scored a hat-trick in eight minutes, so who's taking bets on how many he'll score with a further 45 after the break?

What an incredible strike! El-Arabi smashes a strike towards goal from 25 yards out, striking the bar with Casillas completely beaten. But bounces down on to he goalline and away. So unlucky!

How many more with Ronaldo and Real Madrid score this afternoon? They are scoring with pretty much every attack now, although the goalkeeper should have done so much better.

GOOOOOOOOAL! Real Madrid 4 (40 mins - Cristiano Ronaldo) Granada 0. Well, that didn't take long. Ronaldo has his hat-trick, although Oier should have done better with his save from the 20 yard shot.

This could get messy for Granada now. Real Madrid, after a slightly sluggih start, have found their groove and look to be scoring at will. Ronaldo is on for a hat-trick, maybe even more.

GOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Real Madrid 3 (38 mins - Cristiano Ronaldo) Granda 0. There's Real Madrid's third and Ronaldo's second. The Portuguese volleys home from six yards after Marcelo's cross causes mayhem.

James has been excellent for Real Madrid in this first half. This time he exchanges passes with Ronaldo, but the return pass is cut out by Granada just as it looked like the Colombian might be through.

This result will close the gap at the top of La Liga to just the single point, although Luis Enrique's Barcelona side play later tonight, so can build their lead back up to four points again.

This is a dangerous game being played by Granada now. The high line worked for the opening 20 minutes of the game, but Real Madrid have figured it out and are causing real problems.

That was a nice assist from Rodriguez for the goal. He took the ball inside the box before flicking it out to Ronaldo, who was in space about six yards out from goal. Great awareness from the Colombian.

Benzema should have scored before Ronaldo stuck away the second! The French striker tried to take down a Kroos cross on his chest when he really should have stuck his head on it.

GOOOOOOAL! Real Madrid 2 (33 mins - Cristiano Ronaldo) Granda 0. The home side have their second goal! Ronaldo curls a right-footed finish into the far corner to put Real Madrid 2-0 up.

Excellent passing movement from Real Madrid. Ronaldo takes the ball on the edge of the Granada box, but his shot - after a few stepovers - is blocked by an opposition defender.

That's really poor marking from the home side! Granada win a corner kick and come close to finding Ibanez at the back post, who had been left completely unmarked by Real Madrid.

Granada had been gambling with their high line against the pace of Bale and Ronaldo, and it was found out for the goal. They left too much space in behind their backline to be exploited.

That's an important goal for Real Madrid. The away team had just started to impose themselves on the counter attack, but that opener should settle down Ancelotti's team now.

GOOOOOOOOOOAL! Real Madrid 1 (27 mins - Gareth Bale) Granada 0. Kroos finds the run of Bale in behind the Granada defence, and the Welshman rounds the keeper and taps into the empty net.

Granada have looked somewhat dangerous whenever they have come forward on the counter attack. Their final product has been poor, but there was been warning signs for Real Madrid.

Real Madrid missed Modric badly when the Croatian was injured. He's the one that takes control of the team's midfield and dictates the play from the centre of the pitch alongside Kroos.

Arbeloa might not have many more chances for Real Madrid, given the speculation that has linked him with a move away from the European champions. Is he on his way in the summer?

What a sitter for Arbeloa, of all people! Marcelo crosses into the six yard box from the byline, with Arbeloa trying to flick the ball into the gaping net with the outside of his foot. Why didn't he just side-foot it home?

Great pass from Kroos to release Ronaldo in behind the Granada backline, before he passes to Benzema for a tap in. But the flag is raised on the far side, and he was offside when the ball was played.

Modric spins on the ball in the centre of the Bernabeu pitch and drives towards goal. However, the former Spurs midfielder's shot from 20 yards is charged down by a Granada defender.

Real Madrid look a bit shaky at the back today, which has been something of a trend for the European champions in 2015. They are conceding goals, and that has undermined them.

Bale tries to fire off a shot at goal, but his effort from the edge of the box goes well wide via a deflection. Benzema and Ronaldo can't force home the corner kick from the Welshman.

There have been calls in the Madrid media for Bale to start in a more central position, like he does for Wales, but it would seem that Ancelotti has kept with the winger on the right side.

The away side come close to finding a surprise lead! Real Madrid give the ball away cheaply, with Ibanez sending a side-footed shot towards goal from inside the box. But it flashed just wide.

There has been speculation over Ancelotti's future in the Spanish press of late, but Perez insists that the Italian will keep his job as the Real Madrid coach. It has been a difficult 2015 at the Bernabeu.

Side-netting from Ronaldo! The Real Madrid number seven beats his marker down the left and shoots towards the near post, but he can only find the side-netting. Much better from Ronaldo.

Almost a fatal mix-up between Oier and Carlos! The two players get in each other's way and Bale almost nicks in, but his toe-poke drifts wide of the goal, which was gaping with the keeper missing.

Now Granada get their first shot away at goal, with Rochina trying his luck from distance. But in truth Casillas was never troubled by the effort, with the ball flashing well wide of the target.

Good effort from Benzema! James sends a cross to the back post looking for the French striker, who met it on the volley. But Oier gets down well to make the save at his near post. That would have been some goal!

As you would expect, Real Madrid have started his game the better of the two teams. Granada have every one of their 11 players inside their own half, as the home team comes forward.

Pepe is the only injury Real Madrid are carrying at the moment, which means Varane partners Ramos at the heart of the backline. Not a bad option to have as a back-up, really.

It's a lovely sunny afternoon in the Spanish capital. It's just past mid-day there of course, and this has the feeling of an early kick-off so far. There's a lack of intensity to the contest right now.

There's the first sign of frustration from Ronaldo. First of all a pass into his feet is wayward, then his touch lets him down with another opportunity. He's just not on his game at the moment.

James Rodriguez is back in the starting lineup for Real Madrid having missed the last few months of action through injury. The Colombian has become a fans' favourite very quickly here.

Ancelotti's Real Madrid side are four points behind league leaders Barcelona, which isn't an impossible gap to bridge, but the way Barca are playing you'd think Real have to win all of their final 10 games.

We're under way at the Santiago Bernabeu! It's Real Madrid against Granada in La Liga.
