FULL-TIME: Real Madrid 0-4 Barcelona. What an astonishing result and Barcelona have put down a hefty marker at the top of La Liga. Real Madrid have been destroyed in the Clasico.

Two minutes of stoppage time to be played at the end of the second half.

MAGNIFICENT SAVE FROM BRAVO! The Barcelona goalkeeper hasn't had much to do, but when he has been called upon Bravo has been exceptional. This time he denies Ronaldo a consolation goal.

THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIVE! Neymar's cross finds Munir unmarked inside the penalty area, but strikes wide. Pique is raging with him! He wanted it left for himself behind Munir!

Pique has been booed with every touch of the ball he has taken tonight, and now he has moved up front in search of a goal that would really shut up the home fans inside the Bernabeu.

RED CARD: Isco (Real Madrid). Things go from bad to worse for Real Madrid. Isco is brutally late with the tackle on Neymar, and the referee shows the playmaker the straight red card.

YELLOW CARD: Dani Carvajal (Real Madrid)

Benzema's first touch just isn't there! The ball is played across the backline, with the French striker in behind the Barcelona defence. But his first touch let him down... although he's called for offside.

This could get even worse for Real Madrid. At least when they lost 5-0 in the Clasico all those years ago it was at the Camp Nou. This is on their own patch, and they have been humiliated!

Was that Iniesta's Ronaldinho moment? The Bernabeu crowd rises to applaud the Barcelona playmaker. What a performance that was from him. He has been exceptional tonight.

Barcelona sub: Andres Iniesta OFF, Munir El Haddadi ON.

The Bernabeu is in complete mutiny now. They are jeering and booing their own players. Barcelona have completely and utterly destroyed Real Madrid on their own patch here.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Real Madrid 0 Barcelona 4 (75 mins - Luis Suarez). And there's the fourth! I think it was Alba who touched through the pass for Suarez, who finds the bottom corner of Navas' net with ease. It's game over now.

Bale is in the face of Busquets after the two players clash in the Barcelona box. The Welsh winger has really struggled to make any kind of impact on this match this evening.

BARCELONA WERE QUEUING UP FOR A FOURTH! Suarez tried to clip a finish over Navas after a pass through by Messi, but Ramos was back and made the importan block. That was heading in.

Barcelona are excellent at slowing down the pace of their game in the midfield before quickening the tempo in the final third. Real Madrid can't cope with their pace in and around the box.

If they are to find a way back into this match, Real Madrid need to take their chances. That was a sensational save by Bravo, but Ronaldo still should have found the net. He will rue that.

WHAT AN INCREDIBLE SAVE! That looked to be finding the net for all the world. Bale found Ronaldo with a great pass in behind the Barca defence, but Bravo stood up and made the stop one-on-one.

VARANE NEEDED TO MAKE THAT BLOCK! Messi had the chance to shoot at the Real Madrid goal from the left channel inside the box, but the French centre back gets his body in the way of the effort.

The white handkerchiefs are out at the Santiago Bernabeu. The home fans are up in arms about the manner of this performance. Barcelona have shown the gulf in quality between themselves are their rivals.

APPEALS FOR A REAL MADRID PENALTY KICK! Bale feels that his cross was blocked by the arm of Pique inside the area, and he might have had a case there. The referee shakes his head, though.

Before this game Real Madrid had the best defensive record in La Liga, but Barcelona have found it so easy to cut through them this evening. This has been a shocking display by Benitez's side.

Real Madrid might have started this match with a full strength side on the pitch, but so many of them are off the pace. Benzema has struggled to make an impact, as has Kroos and Bale.

CLOSE FROM CARVAJAL! The right-back bursts into the final third of the pitch and gets the shot away at goal, but it takes a deflection off Mathieu and spins past the far post.

It's difficult to overstate just how wrong this has gone for Real Madrid tonight. They have offered next to nothing, with Barcelona in complete control. This has been a masterclass from the away side.

Real Madrid sub: Marcelo OFF, Dani Carvajal ON.

That's the last thing Benitez would have wanted to see. With Real Madrid 3-0 down and Barcelona in complete control of the match Enrique has now decided to throw on Messi for the final half hour. Gulp.

Barcelona sub: Ivan Rakitic OFF, Lionel Messi ON.

That's a strange decision from Benitez. James has by far been the best of Real Madrid's front four, yet it is the Colombian who is withdrawn for Isco. Will that have any impact?

Real Madrid sub: James Rodriguez OFF, Isco ON.

INTO THE SIDE NETTING! This is like a training exercise for Barcelona. Suarez probably should have gone across goal, but he goes for the near post and finds the netting.

This is turning into a rout. Real Madrid started the second half well, but Barcelona have regained control and have been all over their Clasico rivals. It has been so easy for them.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Real Madrid 0 Barcelona 3 (54 mins - Andres Iniesta). This is getting silly now! What a goal from Barcelona and they are 3-0 up! Neymar's backheel sets up Iniesta for the shot from the edge of the box, and he fires it high into the net!

NEYMAR SHOT, NAVAS SAVE The Barcelona number 11 aims his freekick effort just under the bar, but the Real Madrid does really well to tip the shot over the target. Great save.

YELLOW CARD: Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid)

WHAT A SAVE FROM BRAVO! Real Madrid have come out energised for this second half, and this time it's James who fires at the bottom corner from 20 yards out. But Bravo gets down to make the stop.

SO SELFISH FROM MARCELO! The Real Madrid left back breaks into the box, but he shoots at the near post and wide! That was wild. He had Ronaldo and James square for the tap in!

No changes at the break, which is perhaps surprising. I thought we might have seen Casemiro for the second half. Real Madrid's midfield has been almost non existent. Terrible, actually.

Wow! Not only were the Real Madrid players jeered off the pitch at the end of the opening 45 minutes, they were also jeered as they came out the tunnel for the second half.

The second half is under way at the Santiago Bernabeu! Barcelona hold a 2-0 lead after the opening 45 minutes.

What did you make of that first half from the Santiago Bernabeu? How can Real Madrid possibly find a way back into this match? Is there any change Benitez can make at the break? Tweet me!

HALF-TIME: Real Madrid 0-2 Barcelona. An exceptional half of football by Barcelona. Real Madrid have been outplayed and outclassed all over the pitch. They need a completely new gameplan.

OFF THE LINE! How did that not go in? Neymar gets to the byline and squares for Suarez, whose shot on the slide is cleared off the line by the head of Marcelo. Should have been 3-0!

This has been desperate stuff from Real Madrid. They need to regoup at the break. Benitez needs a new plan, and he can't count on his side to defend and hit on the break. They need to impose themselves!

Two minutes of stoppage time to be played at the end of the second half at the Santiago Bernabeu.

WAS NEYMAR OFFSIDE? A few of the Real Madrid defenders looked to the linesman when that goal went in, and they might have had a case. Neymar was maybe a yard beyond the last man when the pass was made.

Once again, it's simply far too easy for Barcelona to drive through the midfield and pick a pass in behind the defence. Iniesta had all the time in the world to poke through that pass.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Real Madrid 0 Barcelona 2 (39 mins - Neymar). Just when Real Madrid looked like fighting back, they have fallen two goals behind! Iniesta slots through Neymar, who from a tight angle squeezes a shot underneath Navas.

BENZEMA SHOULD HAVE DONE BETTER! Bale's low cross is deflected and loops up to the back post, but the French striker scuffs his shot on the volley. A fully fit Benzema would have scored that.

Their passing has been poor too. Modric and Kroos need to get a grip of this game and start dictating possession, like some of their Barcelona counterparts are doing. Poor so far.

Real Madrid simply haven't done enough in the opposition half in this first half. It's not even as if they are playing a counter attacking game. They just can't get the ball past the halfway line.

Some of the tackles from both teams have been fairly harsh in this first half. This time Modric goes in hard on Rakitic, but the Real Madrid midfielder escapes a booking. Battle of the Croatians.

Benitez needs to find a way to move the ball to his strikers quicker. Ronaldo, Bale and Benzema simply haven't seen enough possession in this first half. Starved of opportunity.

Real Madrid have actually done a decent job so far of keeping Neymar quiet, but they ar failing to stop Barcelona's runners from central midfield. That's where the danger has been.

WAS RONALDO LUCKY THERE? Alves gets the booking for bring down Ronaldo on the break, but the Real Madrid number seven did appear to throw an arm at the full-back.

YELLOW CARD: Dani Alves (Barcelona)

Mascherano looked to have overcome the knock he picked up earlier in the match, but this is now an aggravation of the groin injury he has struggled with of late. Will that be serious?

JAMES GETS THE SHOT AWAY AT GOAL! The Colombian tries to take the leather off the ball with an effort from 20 yards out, but Bravo is behind it and makes the stop to keep it 1-0.

Barcelona sub: Javier Mascherano OFF, Jeremy Mathieu ON.

CHANCE FOR BARCELONA TO GRAB A SECOND! Roberto should have kept his shot down. The ball fell to the midfielder just inside the Real Madrid box, but he blasted over the target.

Barcelona are well on top of things at the moment. They might be mising Messi, but they aren't much in terms of attacking verve and spark in the final third. Real Madrid can't cope with them!

NAVAS IS DOWN TO MAKE THE SAVE! Neymar lined up the freekick from the best part of 25 yards out, but the Real Madrid read it all the way and makes the stop low down to his left.

YELLOW CARD: James Rodriguez (Real Madrid)

Suarez is doing his pantomime villain act again. He goes down under the challenge of Varane and implies that he had the back of his ankle raked. Replays show that there was nothing of the sort.

Benzema doesn't look fit to me. Real Madrid needed him back in their starting lineup, but have they rushed him back from injury too early? His movement isn't as free as it normally is.

THAT WAS RISKY BY ALVES! The Barcelona right-back has his arms wrapped around Ronaldo as the ball came into the penalty area, but the referee decides it didn't warrant a spot kick.

This could be a problem for Barcelona. Mascherano is down on the turf, although it seems to be only an impact injury. Remember, he struggled with a groin injury earlier this season.

ROBERTO SHOULD HAVE TAKEN THE SHOT HIMSELF! Iniesta's pass was superb and finds the peeled off run of the midfielder. However, he takes too long and turns back when he should have fired one off on goal.

Barcelona have dominated much of the opening exchanges, and now they have a lead to show for the start they have made. How will Real Madrid respond? Will they press a bit more now?

The finish from Suarez was exceptional, but the pass from Roberto was even better. He burst through the Real Madrid midfield and picked the pass at just the right time. What a move from Barcelona!

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Real Madrid 0 Barcelona 1 (11 mins - Luis Suarez). The Catalans have an early lead at the Bernabeu! Roberto picks a magnificent pass through to Suarez, who finds the back of the net with an excellent finish!

RONALDO DRAWS THE SAVE FROM BRAVO! The Real Madrid number nine fired at the target from a tight angle, he might have been squaring it, but the Barcelona keeper beats the ball away.

FIRST REAL CHANCE OF THE MATCH! Great passing move from Barcelona gives Neymar the chance to shoot from the edge of the box, but the Brazilian's shot flashes over the target.

The Clasico has earned a bit of a reputation for early goals in recent years, but both these teams are taking a more measured approach this evening. Barcelona are controlling the ball.

Messi has been out of action for the past seven weeks, but that's not to say that Barcelona have struggled without him. They have won seven of their nine games without the Argentine.

Is this Real Madrid's strongest side? Benzema is back in the team, as is James. Their only injury concern at the moment is Dani Carvajal, but they are in good shape for this match.

The antics have started already. Ramos wins the ball cleanly from Suarez as he looked to break forward on the counter attack, but the Barcelona striker hits the deck trying to win the freekick.

Barcelona hold a three point lead over their capital rivals at the top of the table ahead of the game. They should build a huge lead with a win here, but Real Madrid have their sights on drawing level.

I don't want to overplay things too much, but neither side can afford to lose this game. The result here will set the tone for the rest of the season and the Liga title race. So no pressure.

We're under way at the Santiago Bernabeu! It's Real Madrid against Barcelona in La Liga. It's El Clasico.

For Real Madrid, their big team news is that Karim Benzema is back in the team having missed the last month or so through injury. They have missed him as the focal point of attack.

Enrique made the call to bench Messi for a game against Atletico Madrid earlier in the season and it paid off. The Argentine came off the bench in the second half to score the winner. Precedent?

So Messi is indeed on the bench for the Clasico. It looks like Enrique will stick with his 4-3-3 formation, with Sergi Roberto used as something of a right winger. Will Messi come on at some point, though?

TEAM NEWS: Barcelona XI v Real Madrid - Bravo, Alves, Pique, Mascherano, Alba, Rakitic, Busquets, Iniesta, Roberto, Suarez, Neymar.

The Madrid press got it right. There's no Isco or Jese Rodriguez in Rafael Benitez's starting lineup for the Clasico. But perhaps more notable is that there is no Casemiro in the side.

TEAM NEWS: Real Madrid XI v Barcelona - Navas, Danilo, Varane, Ramos, Marcelo, James, Kroos, Modric, Bale, Benzema, Ronaldo.

Of course, all the build-up ahead of this game has been about whether Lionel Messi would recover in time from injury. Rumours among the Catalan press say he will start on the bench.
