Griezmann made the announcement just a couple of days before the World Cup in a video released by Movistar.
The 27-year-old, who currently has a €100m release clause, has had persistent speculation over a potential move away from the Wanda Metropolitano with Barcelona thought to be the main interested party.
In the 30-minute video which was released on Thursday evening Griezmann revealed that he would be staying with the club from the capital.
The forward has been with Atletico since 2014 and last season helped the team to lift the Europa League, scoring 29 goals in all competition for Diego Simeone's side.
In a recorded video posted on earlier on Thursday social media, Griezmann said of the announcement that he is simply wanting to reveal the truth.
"You're fed up with all the talk, am I going? Am I staying? How much they will pay me? How much they won't pay me.
But the truth is what I am going to say now...
The tease is part of a promotion by Movistar Plus, who have billed it as 'The Decision', with the hashtag #LaDecision on social media.
The concept behind Griezmann the video comes from LeBron James' "The Decision" from 2010, where he revealed publicly that he would join the Miami Heat.
