It's a win for Real Madrid, but they were made to work for it. Osasuna enjoyed an excellent first half, but that was as good as it got for them. Zidane made some changes at the break and his team showed their quality in the final third by the time the final whistle blew. They did enough.

- End of 2nd Half
FULL TIME: Osasuna 1-3 Real Madrid
- GoalLucas VázquezReal Madrid
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Osasuna 1 Real Madrid 3 (93' - Lucas Vazquez). The points are in the bag for Real Madrid! Vazquez is played in and finds the net with a cheeky chip over the Osasuna goalkeeper. And that will be that. The away side will collect the three points.
Real Madrid look set to restore their lead at the top of La Liga. This certainly hasn't been their best performance of the season, but Zidane will be pleased with how clincal they have been.
- Yellow cardGoran CausicCA Osasuna
Another booking. Osasuna are only wasting their own time here. Will they create one last opportunity?
Three minutes of stoppage time to be played at the end of the match.
CLOSE TO A THIRD! James beats the goalkeeper to the ball and squares a pass to Vazquez, but a goal-saving challenge is made before he can turn it into the net.
- OffIscoReal Madrid
- OnMateo KovacicReal Madrid
One last substitution made by Real Madrid, with Kovacic coming on for the final few minutes.
Osasuna now look to be a broken team. I realy don't think they have had a touch of the ball in the last five minutes. Can they create one last oportunity to draw level?
Indeed, Real Madrid are now coasting to full time. They are forcing Osasuna to chase the ball, with their players hardly getting near it. They are absolutely knackered.
Osasuna are starting to tire. They have been second best for about 20 minutes now, and Real Madrid are beginning to show their superior fitness. Some home players with cramp.
This win would restore Real Madrid's lead at the top of the Liga table. Of course, Barcelona won their game earlier today, with Atletico Madrid playing tomorrow evening.
It's Real Madrid who are pressing for another goal here, but I'm not sure that's the best idea. They are leaving rather a lot of space at the back for Osasuna to exploit.
RONALDO PENALTY CLAIM! The Real Madrid winger is adament he should have had a spot kick. He was taken down in the area by Garcia, but the referee waves away his claim.
The game is starting to open up just a little, and that might not be in the best interests of Real Madrid. They surely want to keep this tight, see it out and preserve the three points.
Now Ramos comes up from the back for a corner kick, but despite getting on the end of the delivery he can only send his header wide of the target. That was a chance.
SIRIGU DENIES RONALDO! The Real Madrid number seven got in behind the Osasuna backline, but his toe-poked finish on the stretch is saved by the leg of the keeper.
Not that Osasuna are applying a lot of pressure at the moment. They seem to have run out of steam for the moment, but they might build it back up again before full time.
That change makes sense for Real Madrid. Vazquez is the kind of player who will carry the ball up the pitch and relieve the pressure on his teammates closer to their own goal.
- OffKarim BenzemaReal Madrid
- OnLucas VázquezReal Madrid
Indeed, this is the kind of change I was talking about, with Benzema coming off to be replaced by Vazquez.
Real Madrid have a packed schedule over the next few weeks, with the Champions League starting up again. Zidane might wish to take off some players to protect them soon.
For the first time in the match, Real Madrid now seem to be in control of the contest. They are taking it upon themselves to slow down the tempo and intensity of things.
Ronaldo made the move in behind the Osasuna defence to get on the end of a ball from Nacho, but the flag is up for offside. That was the correct call against the Real Madrid man.
Real Madrid now look to have more players bursting into the final third now that James is on the pitch. He's breaking into the box along with Isco. More runners for Osasuna to defend against.
This second half has been marginally better for Real Madrid, but they still look vulnerable at the back. Therein lies the opportunity for Osasuna in these final 25 minutes.
Isco has been one of the better Real Madrid players on the pitch, although he needs to do more to take a grip of the contest in the middle of the field. He can be very influential.
This has been a chaotic match for Real Madrid, but they have the quality in the final third to make sure that they make the most of their opportunities. That's what they have done.
- GoalIscoReal Madrid
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Osasuna 1 Real Madrid 2 (62 mins - Isco). Real Madrid have regained the lead! Isco capitalises sharply on a loose ball in the area and finds the bottom corner of the far corner with a low finish.
- Yellow cardJames RodríguezReal Madrid
James has only been on the pitch for a matter of minutes but he has already been flashed a yellow card.
Some positive news for Real Madrid - Danilo is now on his feet on the touchline, albeit with some help from some medical staff. He's now hobbling his way to the dressing room.
- OffDaniloReal Madrid
- OnJames RodríguezReal Madrid
This is an interesting one. Danilo is coming off injured and on in his place comes on... James. What formation are Real Madrid playing now?
The dyanmic of this match has changed dramatically from the opening 20 minutes or so until now. Real Madrid are now playing primarily on the rapid counter attack.
DANILO INJURY! This could be another serious injury. The stretcher is out for Danilo after a challenge on the Brazilian full back by Garcia. He's going to have to come off here.
- OffJuan FuentesCA Osasuna
- OnCarlos ClercCA Osasuna
And now Fuentes has gone off injured for Osasuna, although his injury is nothing like the one that saw Tano go off earlier.
Apologies for the break in bringing you updates from this game. Some technical issues on our end of things. We definitely didn't spill hot tea all over the keyboard...
Let that be another warning to Real Madrid. Osasuna might be bottom of the league at the moment, but they are causing plenty of problems this evening. They are a real threat.
NAVAS MAKES A BIG SAVE! Leon steps inside to beat Marcelo and get the left footed shot away at goal, but the Real Madrid goalkeeper tips the shot around the post on the stretch.
I'm just trying to work out if Zidane has made any changes to his team at the start of the second half. It looks like he might have made alterations to his defensive line.

The second half is underway! It's 1-1 between Osasuna and Real Madrid.

- End of 1st Half
HALF TIME: Osasuna 1-1 Real Madrid. Osasuna more than deserve to be level at the break. They have been the better of the two teams. Zidane needs to change things up.
Osasuna are sitting bottom of the Liga table. They have won just one match so far this season, but they are good value for the 1-1 draw at the moment. They have been the better side.
There was so much space in behind the Real Madrid backline for Osasuna to exploit for the goal. The defensive game plan just isn't working for the away side. They are far too stretched.
Zidane has shown himself as a tactician this season, but I think he might have to admit that he has got it wrong this evening. He needs to make changes at half time.
HOW DIDN'T THAT GO IN?! Real Madrid were just inches away from taking the lead. Ronaldo set up Benzema for what should have been a simple finish, but Sirigu made the scrambling save.
I said not so long ago that Zidane might make some tweaks to his team at the half time break. In light of that goal, I wonder if he might make some wholesale changes instead.
Perhaps we should have expected that. Osasuna have responded well to going a goal behind and have been the better of the two sides in the last 10 minutes or so.
- GoalSergio LeónCA Osasuna
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Osasuna 1 (34 mins - Sergio Leon) Real Madrid 1. A shock equaliser! Osasuna are back on level terms. Leon is played in behind the Real Madrid and finishes with a delightful clipped finish over Navas, who committed himself to the dive.
Osasuna need to watch that they don't get caught on the counter attack. That nearly happened there, but the home side just about got away with it, as Ronaldo was tackled.
This hasn't been the greatest of performances from Real Madrid, but they have the lead. Nonetheless, Zidane will probably want to tweak things at the half time interval.
This is a good spell of pressure for the home side. Real Madrid aren't exactly defending for their lives just yet, but they are inside their own half replling crosses into their area.
- Yellow cardLuka ModricReal Madrid
You don't see that very often. Modric is booked for throwing an albow into the face of an opponent.
Sirigu really should have done better with that. The new Osasuna goalkeeper didn't have anything to face before that shot, but he was really weak in the save from Ronaldo.
- GoalCristiano RonaldoReal Madrid
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Osasuna 0 Real Madrid 1 (25 mins - Cristiano Ronaldo). That's the first effort they have had on goal, but nonetheless Real Madrid have taken the lead! Ronaldo was released in behind and finished underneath Sirigu.
Real Madrid are still trying to get into their stride. 25 minutes of the match have been played, but they have yet to even bother Sirigu in the Osasuna goal.
That was a waste. Osasuna win a freekick in a dangerous area, but Jaime whips it well over the crossbar. He would have been better putting it into the crowded penalty box.
- OffTano BonnínCA Osasuna
- OnDavid GarcíaCA Osasuna
Garcia comes on for Tano as Osasuna get back up to 11 players. They have a full team on the pitch again.
This match is still reacting to the injury to Tano a few moments ago. Any tempo and intensity that had been building has gone, with the atmosphere also falling flat.
The replays of the injury to Tano show that it's a really bad injury. There was no malice in the tackle from Isco, it was just a coming together between two players. So unfortunate.
The mood around the ground has completely changed now. The Osasuna and Real Madrid players are shocked at what they have just seen. Marcelo looks like he's about to throw up.
HORROR INJURY! This looks like a really bad one. Tano and Isco clash in the challenge and the former has come off much, much worse. That looks like a broken leg. Shocking.
Indeed, Osasuna are making the most of Real Madrid's narrowness in wide areas. They are exploiting them on the wings. Zidane might have to tweak this system.
This has been a decent start to the match by Osasuna. Sure, Real Madrid have probably edged it, but the home side are imposing themselves on the match as well.
- Yellow cardJuan FuentesCA Osasuna
There's the first booking of the match and it goes to Fuentes for a late tackle on Ronaldo.
This formation is certainly a strange one for Real Madrid. It looks like they might actually be playing with three centre backs. I'm still trying to work it out, to be honest.
Navas just about had that covered. Riviere made a run right in front of the Real Madrid goalkeeper, but he was offside when the low cross came in from the byline.
Ronaldo has already lost his footing once in comic fashion and has slipped again. Has the Real Madrid number seven got the wrong studs on? Something's not right.
Benzema got the shot away on goal after Marcelo's cross into the area is cleared, but his effort dribbles past the post by a couple of yards. He's just setting his sights.
Osasuna haven't been in the best form this season, but this is still a difficult place for opposition teams to visit. The fans, the atmosphere, the pitch... it's all rather intimidating.
This is a slightly unusual formation for Real Madrid. They don't often play in this shape. It looks like they are using a 4-4-2 system, with Benzema and Ronaldo the strikers.
Of course, Real Madrid will have seen Barcelona win their fixture earlier this afternoon to reduce the gap at the top of La Liga. Real still have two games in-hand, though.
There has been some speculation over Navas' future at Real Madrid this week. The capital club are reportedly lining up moves for David De Gea and Thibaut Courtois this summer.
Navas is called into action for the first time, but he wasn't troubled much. The cross came into the Real Madrid box from the left wing, but the Costa Rican gathered with ease.
Some pre-match shots...
There has been a lot of coverage about the pitch here before this match. It has been relaid recently, but it still doesn't look to be in the best condition. It's already cutting up.
