La Liga / Matchday 25
Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuan / 02.03.2017
They had to work for it, but Sevilla claim a 1-0 win to keep the pressure on Barcelona and Real Madrid at the top of La Liga. Athletic Bilbao will feel aggrieved that they haven't come away with something, but Sampaoli will look at this as a test of his side's resolve, and they passed with three points to show for it.
End of 2nd Half
FULL TIME: Sevilla 1-0 Athletic Bilbao
This has been a scrappy end to the match and that suits Sevilla just fine. As things stand it's so scrappy that Athletic Bilbao are being denied the chance to create one last chance.
Sevilla have seemingly given up on trying to attack and so they are focusing on simply preserving what they already have. They are camped inside their box repelling the Athletic attacks.
Three minutes of stoppage time to be played at the end of the match.
Is there a final chance left in this game for Athletic Bilbao? They will feel aggrieved if they don't come away from this match with something to show for their efforts.
That's a costly booking for Nasri. That yellow card means that he will now miss the weekend's game against Alaves.
DEFLECTED WIDE! That could have gone anywhere. Nasri took aim from the edge of the penalty area, but his shot flashes wide of the near post via deflection off an Athletic defender.
But things maybe need to be put into perspective - Sevilla are still 1-0 up and have five minutes left to play. They are on course to close the gap at the top of the table.
At the moment Athletic Bilbao are absolutely battering Sevilla. The home side look tired and weary, which isn't like them at all. They usually play with intensity from start to finish.
This is a crucial last 10 minutes for Sevilla in the context of their season. They need to hold on here to keep the pressure on both Barcelona and Real Madrid at the top of the table.
Jovetic has been hooked by Sampaoli as well. He didn't enjoy the best evening, missing a penalty and generally proving wasteful in the final third.
Finally Sevilla can make the change and Vietto comes off to be replaced by Ben Yedder.
Wissam Ben Yedder
All this time and Sevilla are still waiting to make the double change. The officials don't seem to have spotted the two players waiting on the touchline to come. Will they get on before the full time whistle?
It looks like there is some activity down on the Sevilla touchline, with Yedder ready to come on for the home side. There is their top goalscorer this season. They could use another goal here.
And there's another booking, this time for Susaeta, but the sub wasn't even the one who made the tacke. Has the referee got the wrong man, there?
Going to be honest, I have no idea what that's for. The yellow card is flashed to Mariano following an Athletic Bilbao, but he didn't seem to do much wrong. Dissent maybe?
That's an attacking change for the away side, with Susaeta coming on for Athletic Bilbao. He will give them a threat on the wings.
