Cristiano Ronaldo charged £920,000 for half a day of work, according to the latest extracts from German book Football Leaks: The Dirty Business of Football.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, the Real Madrid star was paid the fee in 2013 when a Saudi telecoms firm and Ronaldo’s image rights company, Multisports & Image Management, agreed a deal for a photo-shoot, five signed shirts and two mentions on his social media.

The Gulf company were also allowed to use images of the forward that were taken on the day, but their publication was limited to the Middle East and north Africa.

The book also reveals that Gareth Bale’s £85m transfer fee was deliberately recorded by Los Blancos as £77m in a press release so it would not be seen to eclipse the previous world record of £80m paid to Manchester United for the Portuguese star.

It comes after revelations about Paul Pogba’s transfer to Manchester United for £89m, in which agent Mino Raiola is said to have received £41million.
