Suarez opened the scoring at Camp Nou to give Barca the lead, until Sergio Ramos equalised in added time to ensure Madrid’s lead at the top of La Liga remained six points.
“We were superior and created many chances, but these things happen in football,” the striker said after the game.
“If you don’t take one to close the match for 2-0, it can happen.
"We dropped two points. The team did everything possible to get all three, but I repeat that these things happen in football.
“The game was open and they drew with us in the last minute.
“We have to be strong at home, it’s something we already know. We must keep going forward and hope Real Madrid drop points.”
