'Cristiano is angry, but I think he will stay' - Real Madrid's Florentino Perez on Ronaldo's future

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Real Madrid career is not over, according to the club’s president Florentino Perez.

The Los Blancos head honcho has been faced with a storm of speculation surrounding his star player this summer, with Ronaldo heavily linked with a move to Manchester United.

A court case filed against the Portuguese goalscoring over alleged unpaid tax reportedly riled Ronaldo, but Perez is confident that the 32-year-old’s future remains at the Bernabeu, telling a Spanish radio station:
I know Cristiano is angry, but I think he will stay. I haven't spoken with him, but the only thing that has to be done is to wait and talk after the Confederations Cup.
The Real president may not have spoken to the player, but he has spoken to the man at the centre of the saga - agent and key influencer Jorge Mendes.
I have spoken with Mendes about him. No need to worry.
And Perez is also confident that Ronaldo will be cleared of wrongdoing in the ongoing tax case.
"He is a man of integrity and has fulfilled with his duties," Perez said. "There are many people who have wanted to hurt him with taxes and other topics and he feels it."
Ronaldo's Portugal play Chile on Wednesday in the Confederations Cup semi-finals, while Real Madrid return to competitive action in the UEFA Super Cup on August 8 against Manchester United.
