Brazilian defender Marcelo has confirmed that his lawyers are looking into allegations against him of tax fraud.
Prosecutors allege that the Real Madrid star defrauded local tax authorities of over €490,000 in 2013 with offshore companies handling the money earned from his image rights.
"My lawyers are looking into the matter," he explained in his post match interview after Madrid's 1-1 draw with Tottenham in the Champions League.
"I hope they will find a resolution and that the matter will be sorted as soon as possible.”
Marcelo is the latest of a number of players in Spain who have been investigated.
In 2016, Lionel Messi and his father were found guilty on three fronts of defrauding tax authorities of €4.1 million from image rights.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Javier Mascherano, Angel di Maria and Radamel Falcao have all also been investigated.
