Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo all found the net as Real Madrid continued their good run of form with a comprehensive 4-0 home win over Alaves.
It took Zinedine Zidane’s side until a minute before half time to make the breakthrough, with Ronaldo firing home after a clever backheel flick from Benzema. From then on, it was complete dominance from the Spanish and European champions.
Bale added a second just seconds into the second half, finishing off a move that involved both Ronaldo and Benzema. Ronaldo grabbed his second, and Real Madrid’s fourth soon after, meaning he has now scored 12 times in his last seven outings.
And Benzema applied the finishing touches in stoppage time, scoring from the spot. This result marked the first time that Real Madrid have won five games on the spin in all competition, with Zidane’s team finally finding their groove ahead what they hope will be a much-improved second half of the season.

TALKING POINT - Cristiano Ronaldo made a point over Karim Benzema

He normally makes his goals above himself and nobody else, but Ronaldo pointed at Benzema when celebrating his opener. It was the French striker who created the opportunity with a clever backheel flick and Ronaldo wanted to highlight his contribution to the home crowd, who up until that point had been whistled. And when Ronaldo was presented with a chance to grab his hat-trick from the spot, he handed Benzema the penalty to grant him the goal his performance warranted. Ronaldo made a point over the importance of his teammate.

MAN OF THE MATCH - Lucas Vazquez (Real Madrid)

There were many standout performers for Real Madrid as they dismantled Alaves, but Lucas Vazquez was the main man for the hosts. Bale, Benzema and Ronaldo might have grabbed the goals, but they had their fellow attacker to thank for many of their scoring chances. Vazquez has hit a real vein of form in recent weeks, making him an important part of Zidane’s side.
