The Argentine coach has become part of the furniture at Atletico since arriving in 2011, and it is expected he will soon extend his stay beyond his current deal which expires in June 2020.
Simeone has been linked with moves to the Premier League in the past, but Radio Marca claim he is going nowhere and will surpass the 10-year mark at the Madrid-based club.
Antoine Griezmann is currently the highest-paid person at Atletico after the Frenchman signed a one-year contract extension last June worth £17.5m until the summer of 2023.

But it has been reported that Simeone will surpass that having been in talks with the club’s hierarchy over a new deal since the summer. Negotiations with the chief executive Miguel Angel Gil Marin are said to now be at an advanced stage.
The 48-year-old has enjoyed a high degree of success, overseeing the club’s smooth transition into their new Wanda Metropolitano stadium having left the atmospheric Vicente Calderon in 2017.
Atletico have won seven major honours under his stewardship, including La Liga in 2014 and two Europa League titles.
Simone’s side are currently third in the Spanish top-flight, a point adrift of leaders Barcelona.
