Williams lashes one over the bar! Real Madrid were caught asleep at the back, Williams took a pass from a quick freekick and got the shot away, but he lashes over at the near post!

Rodrygo over the bar! The Brazilian teenager should have done better with that. Asensio's cross to the back post bounced through to Rodrygo, but he heads over the crossbar.

Militao tackle! Just for a moment, it seemed that Williams was going to race clear of the Real Madrid defence, but Militao showed his own pace to keep up and then make the tackle.

That last opportunity illustrated where Real Madrid might miss Varane this afternoon. Garcia physically dominated Militao in getting on the end of that delivery to the back post.

Benzema is now dropping deep to pick up the ball and spin it forward. He has Asensio and Rodrygo ahead of him making runs into space. Such a difficult front three to play against.

It's been a competitive start to the match at San Mames, but there hasn't been much in the way of goalscoring opportunities. Hopefully we will see more in that sense. Tentative start.
