What a performance by Messi and what a performance from Barcelona. This was arguably their best display of the season and they were inspired by Messi, who was unstoppable. There was nothing Real Mallorca could do to stop him. They didn't even play that badly!

- End of 2nd Half
FULL TIME: Barcelona 5-2 Real Mallorca.
Suarez was through! Barcelona have a chance to add a sixth with the last kick of the game, but Reina pulls off a wonderful save to at least salvage some dignity for Real Mallorca.
Barcelona have played some sparkling stuff in this match. There was a lull in the second half, but they have put down a marker here and will return to the top of the Spanish Liga table.
There will be three minutes of stoppage time played at the end of the match.
Almost an own goal! Suarez's chip over the top looked to be heading for the gloves of Reina, but Sastre very nearly caught out his own goalkeeper with a header. He clawed it away and Vidal shoots into the side netting.
Griezmann opened the scoring for Barcelona and there were signs of what he can offer his new team, but there is still a sense that Messi and Suarez are playing around the Frenchman.
- OffAntoine GriezmannFC Barcelona
- OnCarles PérezFC Barcelona
Griezmann comes off and is given a warm reception from the home supporters around the Camp Nou.
- OffAnte BudimirRCD Mallorca
- OnAbdón PratsRCD Mallorca
Real Mallorca make their last change of the night and Prats comes on for the final few minutes.
- GoalLionel MessiFC Barcelona
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Barcelona 5 (84 mins - Lionel Messi) Real Mallorca 2. There's the hat trick and that will be the points in the bag for Barcelona! The pass was played into Suarez, he played the bal back to Messi and the Argentine thwacked a finish into the back of the net off the underside of the crossbar!
Barcelona lost a grip of this game almost as soon as de Jong was taken off. The Dutch midfielder has become central to the Catalans in a very short space of time. Great player.
Time is running out for Real Mallorca if they are to stand any chance of claiming something from this match. They have played well at spells and are certainly still in this.
- Yellow cardArturo VidalFC Barcelona
Vidal enters the referee's book. Because he can't play a single game without seeing a yellow card.
Barcelona must have expected to score a few more in this second half and make the win a handsome one, but they have taken their foot off the pedal and have allowed Mallorca back into this game.
Reina saves from Roberto! The pass was played through to the Barcelona right back, the angle was tight, but the Real Mallorca goalkeeper was still required to make a save at his near post.
Ter Stegen saves Barca! Cucho gets the shot away from the edge of the box, it looked to be heading for the top corner, but Ter Stegen sticks up a hand to make the save. Barcelona aren't in control of this right now.
Alena is hassled and harried inside his own area and just about gets the pass away to Roberto. Real Mallorca are pressing high on Barcelona. They still have some belief.
There is still hope for Real Mallorca here. Barcelona's flow has been disrupted by the changes from the bench. The away side, on the other hand, are having a go here. Not over.
This is actually Alena's first game for Barcelona since he was hooked at half time of the opening weekend defeat to Athletic Club. He hasn't played a single minute since then!
- OffIvan RakiticFC Barcelona
- OnCarles AleñaFC Barcelona
Barcelona make a change of their own and Alena comes on for Rakitic.
- OffIddrisu BabaRCD Mallorca
- OnJosep SeñéRCD Mallorca
Another change for the away side and Baba comes off and Sene comes on for the last 20 minutes.
PICTURE: Messi has been the main man for Barca tonight. As usual.
- Yellow cardGerard PiquéFC Barcelona
Pique is shown a yellow card for a foul on Cucho. Barca just need to be careful here.
Well, Real Mallorca are once again back in the game. Barcelona have looked vulnerable at the back at times this evening. It's beyond the realms of possibility that they could concede again.
- GoalAnte BudimirRCD Mallorca
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Barcelona 4 Real Mallorca 2 (65 mins - Ante Budimir). Real Mallorca have got another one and it's Budimir again! The visitors created the crossing opportunity down the left side with the ball swung in for Budimir, he jumped highest and beat Ter Stegen to the header, finding the back of the net.
- OffFrenkie de JongFC Barcelona
- OnArturo VidalFC Barcelona
A first change for Barcelona and Vidal comes on for de Jong. The Dutchman played well.
That change means that Real Mallorca have now switched to a 4-4-2 shape. That is a bit of a gamble. It could leave them light in the middle of the pitch where they have already struggled.
- OffSalva SevillaRCD Mallorca
- OnCuchoRCD Mallorca
Real Mallorca make their first change of the night and on comes Cucho.
That was a weak finish from Suarez in the end. He linked up nicely with Messi on the edge of the box, but the effort in the end was no trouble for Reina to gather. Suarez looks annoyed.
Snap shot from Suarez! Messi slid the pass into his friend and teammate, Suarez took the shot first-time on the spin, but Reina makes the save at his near post. There was power in that.
Firpo has been more assured in recent weeks, but he still needs to offer Barcelona more in an attacking sense. Alba is a real force down that left side. Firpo is just too cautious.
Vidal has been sent to go warm up by Valverde. Might the Chilean midfielder be Barcelona's first change? Who would come off for Vidal? De Jong or Rakitic might be the prime candidate.
You could that run coming from de Jong. Much was made of his ability as a pass-master, but the Dutchman has added a lot to Barcelona with his drive and energy going forward.
Should have been five! What a run that was from de Jong, he then played the pass through for Griezmann, but Reina denies the Frenchman when he should have found the back of the net!
PICTURE: Look how Suarez chipped the keeper with a BACKHEEL!
This scoreline is rather harsh on Real Mallorca. They haven't actually played that poorly, it's just that Barcelona have been on fire in the attacking third. They could score a few more.
ICYMI - here's that finish from Suarez.
Not so long ago it seemed that Rakitic was on his way out at the Camp Nou. But the Croatian is back in the team and is playing well again. He is a very important player for Barca.
RAKITIC... not far wide! Things opened up for the Croatian midfielder on the edge of the box, he took on the shot, but the effort bounces wide of the far post. Reina was worried about that.
On the flip side, Barcelona will see this as a real opportunity to put down a marker at the top of La Liga. Real Madrid went top earlier today, but this has been a statement performance so far.
One wonders if Real Mallorca are already thinking about next week's relegation six pointer away to Celta Vigo. They won't want to go there on the back of a hammering here.
- 2nd Half
The second half is under way! Barcelona have a 4-1 lead over Real Mallorca in this La Liga fixture.

- End of 1st Half
HALF TIME: Barcelona 4-1 Real Mallorca. What a performance from the Catalans. This is the best they have played all season. We have witnessed four special goals in this first half. Wow.
Wait until you see this goal from Suarez. One of the goals of the season. He actually chipped the goalkeeper with his sand wedge of a backheel. He knew what he was doing.
- GoalLuis SuárezFC Barcelona
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Barcelona 4 (43 min - Luis Suarez) Real Mallorca 1. Another stunning Barcelona goal! This time it's Suarez! It was a well-worked passing move between Roberto and De Jong around the edge of the box, the pass was then played into Suarez and he backheels a finish into the back of the net! That was incredible!
Real Mallorca would have hoped to get to half time 2-1 behind, but Messi had other ideas. There's just nothing you can do to stop the Argentine when he picks the ball up in that area.
- GoalLionel MessiFC Barcelona
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Barcelona 3 (42 mins - Lionel Messi) Real Mallorca 1. Another one! You just knew that was happening as soon as the ball was at Messi's feet. Mallorca gave him too much space 20 yards out and the great man guided a stunning left-footed strike into the back of the net. What a finish from Messi. Best in the world.
PICTURE: Griezmann opened the scoring for Barca.
That was a bit of a waste from Barcelona. Messi had a freekick in a dangerous position down the left side, but the Argentine puts the ball right into the gloves of Reina. Pretty poor.
So all of a sudden Real Mallorca are back in the game. They could have been three or four down, but instead they have halved the deficit and have given themselves a chance again.
Well, we certainly weren't expecting that. That goal came completely against the run of play. Barcelona looked to be in complete control of the match, but Real Mallorca have a lifeline.
- GoalAnte BudimirRCD Mallorca
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Barcelona 2 Real Mallorca 1 (36 mins - Ante Budimir). The away side have got one back! The pass from Sevilla was excellent, Budimir takes a good touch and then gets the shot away. The effort took a massive deflection off Lenglet and then bounced over the head of Ter Stegen and into the back of the net.
Barcelona have been rampant in this first half. The only consolation for Real Mallorca is that they have only conceded twice because this could be ugly for the visitors to the Camp Nou.
Suarez is through... was that a penalty? The Barcelona striker rounds Reina, but then seemed to get clipped as he sent the shot wide on the stretch. The officials decide that it wasn't a penalty. Replays back that up.
Reina makes the save! The angle was tight for Messi, but he still managed to get the shot away. Reina came rushing off his line to make the save, though. The corner comes to nothing.
Off the inside of the post! How didn't that go in? Suarez took the touch inside the box, steadied himself for the shot, but then rattled his effort off the inside of the post and across the face of goal.
Of course, the Clasico is on the horizon for Barcelona. There is a real sense that match could set the tone for the rest of the season, giving one of the two rivals an advantage in the title race.
That was a good burst from Kubo. The teenager who is on loan from Real Madrid has been a thorn in the side of Barcelona so far this evening. He has caused them some problems.
This has to be one of Barcelona's best performances of the season so far. While Real Mallorca started the match relatively well they now look a little frayed around the edges.
Almost a great goal! Barcelona's front three combine inside the Real Mallorca penalty area, but the intervention was made just before Suarez could pull the trigger on goal. Wonderful play.
Pique header! Firpo gets to the byline and stages a cross into the area. Pique got on the end of it to head on target, but he probably should have left it to Messi who was waiting behind him.
De Jong has played an interesting role in this Barcelona team this season. Many presumed the Dutchman would play in the Busquets role, but he is being used higher up the pitch.
So the points already seem to be in the bag for Barcelona. It's difficult to imagine how Real Mallorca will come back from this when the Catalans look so dangerous in the attacking third.
This scoreline is extremely harsh on Real Mallorca. They haven't actually played that badly, but you get the feeling that Barcelona are in the mood tonight and could add a few more.
- GoalLionel MessiFC Barcelona
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Barcelona 2 (17 mins - Lionel Messi) Real Mallorca 0. Wow! What a goal! Messi picks up the ball, turns, opens up the angle and then fires a strike from just over 20 yards out into the top corner of the Real Mallorca net! Exceptional strike from the great! So much power, so little backlift. Incredible.
PICTURE: Golden man, golden ball.
Busquets header on goal! That could have been a second Barcelona goal. Busquets was up for a corner kick and directed a header towards goal, but Reina pushed it over his own bar.
Having said that Barcelona are controlling the ball in the middle of the park for the most part. This could be a long evening for Real Mallorca. They look quite open at the back.
Real Mallorca have actually started this match well. They have had a golden opportunity and have looked dangerous on the break. They can count themselves unlucky to be behind.
- Yellow cardSergi RobertoFC Barcelona
Roberto picks up the first yellow card of the match. He is having a tough time against Rodriguez.
- GoalAntoine GriezmannFC Barcelona
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Barcelona 1 (9 mins - Antoine Griezmann) Real Mallorca 0. That's cruel on Real Mallorca. Just seconds after they should have scored, they fall behind. Ter Stegen released Griezmann with a long pass up the field and the French attacker showed great composure to dink the finish over Reina.
What a chance for Mallorca! The islanders probably should have found the back of the net! The corner kick fell at the feet of Rodriguez six yards out, but he sends his effort wide. Should be 1-0.
Good ball from Kubo! The Real Mallorca youngster sent an excellent cross to the back post for Rodriguez to attack, but Roberto stretched out a leg to turn the ball behind for a corner.
As referenced in the build up to this game, there has been a lot of scrutiny of Griezmann since he made the move to Barcelona from Atletico Madrid in the summer. He's been a bit of a spare part.
Across the face of goal! Messi and Griezmann link up inside the penalty area, but the ball from the Frenchman flashes across the face of the Real Mallorca goal. No takers in the middle.
Now that the formalities are out of the way Barcelona have a job to do. Real Madrid did their job earlier in the day by beating Espanyol. The pressure is now on the Catalans.
There was a delay to the match kicking off as Messi was presented with the Ballon d'Or he won earlier in the week. His children brought it out on to the pitch for him. Nice moment.
- 1st Half
The match is under way at the Camp Nou! It's Barcelona against Real Mallorca in this La Liga fixture.
Okay, here we go. We're about to get started at the Camp Nou. Kick off is just moments away.
As mentioned earlier in the build up, Barcelona will leapfrog Real Madrid again at the top of La Liga with a win here.
Messi has scored in each of his previous five matches against Real Mallorca - he has eight goals over those five games!
Not long until kick off at the Camp Nou. Barcelona will be strong favourites to win this one, but they have struggled through matches of late so Mallorca will take encouragement from that.
Real Mallorca are fighting a relegation bottom down near the foot of the Spanish Liga table. They are currently just one point above the bottom three. They've beaten Real Madrid this season!
Firpo starts at left back for Barcelona with Roberto at right back. Griezmann keeps his place in attack despite continued criticism of his role in Valverde's team. He's been in poor form recently.
I'm Graham Ruthven and you can catch me on Twitter ahead of the game to let me know your thoughts. How much pressure is on Barcelona to leapfrogReal Madrid again tonight? Tweet me!
