We might now get a frantic finish to this match. How will Barcelona respond to going behind? This result will see them knocked off the top of La Liga. They are pressing for an equaliser.

Vinicius had struggled until that goal. He had found himself in a dangerous position a number of times, but had lacked the final product. He found it there and it could put Real Madrid top of La Liga!

Kroos played the pass in behind for the Brazilian winger and his shot deflected off Pique, wrong-footed Ter Stegen and found the back of the Barcelona net at the near post!

Almost an immediate impact! Braithwaite very nearly finds the back of the net with his first touch! He was released in behind the Real Madrid defence, he chipped a shot over Courtois, but Varane was back on the line to make the clearance!

Here is Barcelona's first change of the night and it's Braithwaite who comes on for Vidal. The Chilean didn't have his best game.

Was that a penalty? Vinicius wants a spot kick. He believes he was fouled by both Semedo and Pique, but there wasn't enough in either tackle for the referee to award the Real Madrid penalty. Did Arthur stand on Vinicius' ankle, though?

There's a sense that Real Madrid are starting to crank things up. They recognise just how important it is that they get three points from this match to put them in control of the title race again.

Is there a better goalkeeper in world football than Ter Stegen at this moment? That last save was astonishing. He might have tipped it on to the woodwork. Whether it did or not, what a stop.

What a save from Ter Stegen! That was heading right for the top corner of the Barcelona net! Real Madrid played a short corner and Isco curled an effort towards goal from 20 yards out, but Ter Stegen tips it wide! Unbelievable!

That's where the pace of Varane is so valuable. Marcelo played a really slack pass into the centre and just for a moment Real Madrid looked to be in trouble. But Varane caught Griezmann to rescue the situation.

Messi is dropping deeper and deeper to pick up the ball and drive it forward. When he does that it's Vidal who pushes into the centre from his position out on the right side.

Vinicius did well to drive to the byline, get around Semedo and square a pass back into the middle, but Pique was on hand to make the interception before it could reach a player in white.
