Barcelona deserved the three points and were impressive for the majority of the match, but they ended up hanging on for the win towards the end. They really should have scored more than once. Barca had the opportunities to settle this match in the first half.

- End of 2nd Half
FULL TIME: Huesca 0-1 Barcelona
Michael turns away from the action as he senses the opportunity might have gone for Huesca. Barcelona are going to hold on for all three points here. Only seconds remaining.
There will be just two minutes of stoppage time played at the end of the match.
Huesca might have left this too late. They are well on top in these final few minutes, but can they create an opportunity? Barcelona are just moments away from an important win.
A win here would take Barcelona back above Sevilla and into fifth place in the Liga table. They have conceded a number of late goals this season. They can't afford another one.
Into the keeper's arms! Ter Stegen is called into action to make a save from Carlos, but there was never enogh power in that strike from the Huesca man to beat the German goalkeeper.
- Yellow cardJavier OntiverosSD Huesca
A yellow card for Ontiveros as the clock counts down to full time.
This is where Barcelona could rue not taking one of their chances in this second half. A 1-0 scoreline is a dangerous scoreline. Huesca have been second best, but they're still in this.
For the first time in the game, Huesca are seeing plenty of the ball with Barcelona camped inside their own half. The Catalans now have some defending of their own to do.
- OffMartin BraithwaiteFC Barcelona
- OnAntoine GriezmannFC Barcelona
Here comes Griezmann. He has a point to prove after being left out of the lineup.
- OffSergio BusquetsFC Barcelona
- OnMiralem PjanicFC Barcelona
And Pjanic is also on to try and control things in the centre of the pitch.
- OffSergiño DestFC Barcelona
- OnÓscar MinguezaFC Barcelona
Mingueza is on for Barcelona. He replaces Dest. Which is a strange change...
- OffJaime SeoaneSD Huesca
- OnDavid FerreiroSD Huesca
Ferreiro also on for the final 15 minutes. Huesca are struggling to get out of their own half.
- OffSergio GómezSD Huesca
- OnShinji OkazakiSD Huesca
Here's Okazaki for Huesca. He can certainly create something out of nothing.
Barcelona are putting the pressure on here in search of a second goal that would secure the three points. It's relentless pressure from the Catalans. Huesca just can't keep hold of the ball.
- OffJorge PulidoSD Huesca
- OnJuan CarlosSD Huesca
A change for the home side and it's Carlos who comes on for the final 20 minutes.
Barcelona are also expected to complete a deal for a new centre back before the end of the season, with Manchester City’s Eric Garcia believed to be on his way to the Camp Nou this summer.
Araujo and Mingueza have both made the step up this season. They are actually seen as Barcelona’s favoured centre backs with Pique sidelined through injury and Lenglet out of form.
Koeman has recently switched to a back three system. This looks to be a good fit for the players he has in his squad at this moment in time, although Barcelona don’t have many fit defenders right now. Back to a back four tonight, though.
Koeman’s side have drawn two of their last three in La Liga. This Barcelona team is finding almost every match a struggle at the moment. They are vulnerable at the back and are struggling in attack. But this has been better.
In terms of any lingering title ambitions, Barcelona probably need to win this evening if they are to stand any chance of catching the two Madrid clubs at the top of La Liga. Their chance might already be gone.
- OffMikel RicoSD Huesca
- OnIdrissa DoumbiaSD Huesca
Doumbia comes on for the home side, who are growing into this game.
Ter Stegen forced into a save! Good opportunity for Huesca to restore parity, but the Barcelona goalkeeper gets down well to make the stop from Mir. He saw that really late as well!
Messi with the shot! That was a good chance for the Barcelona number 10 to net his team's second of the night, but he sends his left-footed strike wide of the post. Not too far away.
Huesca are in a difficult position at the foot of the table, but they have taken four points from their last two home games against Alaves and Levante and so there is some encouragement for them in their recent form.
Dembele can be pleased with how he has played this evening. The Frenchman has given Barcelona something different. This is the player he was expected to be all along!
Big chance for a second! Dembele got on the end of a ball into the left channel and lifted a clipped shot over Fernandez, but Siovas was back inside his own six-yard box to make a clearance.
Of course, Braithwaite has been playing as a centre forward this season. The Dane brings balance to the Barcelona team, but he can’t exactly be counted on for goals on a consistent basis.
There is certainly a sense that Barcelona could use another centre forward after the surprise sale of Luis Suarez to Atletico Madrid last summer. They didn’t sign a replacement for the Uruguayan.
One wonders what Griezmann makes of the speculation linking Barcelona with moves for players like Haaland and Lautaro Martinez. The Frenchman just hasn’t done it as a centre forward.
PICTURE: De Jong's goal is the difference
There were reports during the week that Erling Haaland had agreed to sign for Barcelona in the summer transfer window, but Mino Raiola refuted those reports in typically bullish fashion.
Away form has been a real issue for Barcelona this season. Indeed, they have won just twice on the road in La Liga over the course of the 2020/21 campaign so far, which just isn’t good enough.
Another one of the success stories of the season for Barcelona has been Dest, although the American defender was hooked midway through the draw against Eibar. That was a poor one for him.
Pedri has very quickly earned the trust of Messi, which isn’t easy (just as Griezmann). The Argentine frequently looks for his teenage teammate and they appear to have a good understanding.
- 2nd Half
The second half is under way! Barcelona have a 1-0 lead over Huesca in this La Liga fixture.
- End of 1st Half
HALF TIME: Huesca 0-1 Barcelona. No added time at the end of the first half and Barcelona can reflect on a job well done so far. De Jong's goal is the difference, but Barca have been dominant.
This has been a good performance from Barcelona in this first half, although Koeman will be somewhat concerned his side have managed just one goal in the opening 45 minutes.
That's a waste. Messi has the chance to test Fernandez with another freekick in a dangerous position, but the Barcelona number 10 curls this one harmlessly over the crossbar.
What a save! Messi must have thought he'd found the back of the net with a freekick strike heading for the top corner, but Fernandez gets across to make a diving save. What a stop!
PICTURE: De Jong opened the scoring
One of Koeman’s best decisions this season has been his fast-tracking of Pedri into the first team. The teenager makes Barcelona tick in the final third. They are a poorer team without him.
Pedri has been one of the biggest success stories of this season for Barcelona. The teenager has very quickly become a first team figure for the Catalans following his summer move from Las Palmas.
While Koeman has previously used a back three to good effect, this looks more like an orthodox back four from Barcelona this evening. Mingueza has dropped out of the lineup.
This is a chance for Dembele to show what he can do for Barcelona. The injury to Ansu has given the French winger another opportunity to gain more game time over a prolonged run of games. He’s playing well tonight.
Blocked shot! Dest bursts down the right side and plays a low pass into Braithwaite. The Dane had his back to goal, but still managed to get the shot away. His effort is blocked, though.
There’s no sign of Pjanic for Barcelona this evening as Busquets comes back into the lineup. The Bosnian won’t be happy about that. He has been public in making demands of first team football.
Griezmann is the big name left out of the Barcelona lineup for this evening’s game. This is the fifth time in the last six games he has been omitted from Koeman’s starting lineup. Concerning for him.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Huesca 0 Barcelona 1 (27 mins - Frenkie de Jong). That goal had been coming for a while! Messi swings the cross into the box from the left side, de Jong timed his run well and the Dutchman guides a finish into the back of the Huesca net! Barcelona have the lead their dominance warrants.
While Coutinho started the season well and has been given another chance by Koeman to prove himself as a Barcelona player, he still didn’t have a clear role in this team. A real misfit.
Coutinho went under the knife this week. The Brazilian playmaker picked up a knee injury and is now expected to be sidelined for the next three months. That is a blow to Barcelona. They’ll need depth over the coming weeks.
Into the side netting! Pedri was trying to find Braithwaite inside the area, the ball ricocheted to Alba, but the Barcelona left back could only find the side netting with his strike.
Huesca are currently rooted to the foot of the La Liga table with just 12 games from their opening 16 fixtures. The aim for them this season is simply to survive in the Spanish top flight.
Header over! Pedri probably should have done better with that. The cross from Dembele was a good one, but the Barcelona playmaker could only guide his header over the bar.
They might not have made the breakthrough yet, but this has been a good start by Barcelona. Huesca have barely had a touch of the ball with the Catalans camped in the opposition half.
PICTURE: No early breakthrough
Dembele's shot! That effort from the French winger was heading for the back of the net after the cut back by Pedri, but the ball bounced off the face of Pulido and went behind for a corner.
Results and performances under Koeman have been patchy. There have been some good displays, but Barcelona have simply struggled to string results together. Inconsistency has been the issue.
Another person at Barcelona whose future won’t be clearer until the next president is elected is Koeman. There is a sense the Dutchman will only be given one season in the Camp Nou hot seat.
Laporta certainly knows how to generate publicity. He was the one who brought Ronaldinho to Barcelona in his first stint as president and took the club back to the top of the Spanish and European game. Can he do it again?
For a long time it seemed that Victor Fonte was the favourite to be elected the next Barcelona president, but there is now a sense that Joan Laporta could be in line to return to the position he held for years.
It’s likely that Messi’s Barcelona career will become clearer once there is a resolution to the presidential election at the club. Once it’s known who will lead Barca, Messi will probably make a call.
Going back to Messi’s future, Manchester City looked to be the frontrunners to sign him in the summer, but Paris Saint-Germain have emerged as the new favourites to capture the Argentine. Pochettino is there now.
Messi at the back post! Alba causes yet more problems down the left side and finds Messi at the back post with a cross into the box. But the Argentine drags his shot wide at the back post.
Good save! Almost the opener for Barcelona as Pedri gets a toe on an Alba cross into the middle, but Fernandez makes a good reflext save to keep the ball out of the back of the Huesca net.
Of course, Messi’s future is still very much up in the air. The Argentine is free to talk to other clubs with his Barcelona contract up at the end of the 2020/21 season. Is he on his way out of Barca?
As I said in the build-up to kick off, Messi was notable in his absence for the home draw against Eibar. Quite simply, Barcelona struggle to create goalscoring opportunities without their number 10.
Barcelona come into this game on the back of a disappointing draw against Eibar just as it appeared the Catalans might be building some momentum after a run of some good victories.
Koeman needs much better from his players this evening. Barcelona simply need three points to try and build some momentum over the coming weeks. Huesca are bottom of the table.
The match is under way! It's Huesca against Barcelona in this La Liga fixture!
Okay, here we go. We are about to get under way. Kick off is just moments away.
Barcelona are currently 13 points off the top of La Liga and we are fast approaching the mid-point of the season!
Not long until kick off. Barcelona really need three points this evening to pull them back into top four contention.

A good run of form had put Barcelona back in the title picture near the top of La Liga, but the draw at home to Eibar has dropped them back down to sixth place. They have plenty work to do.
Barcelona desperately missed Messi for the game against Eibar. The Catalans were held at home and struggled to create much in the way of scoring opportunities in the attacking third without Messi. He’s back tonight!
