THAT WAS THE CHANCE! That should have been the equaliser for Barcelona! Aguero squared the pass for Gavi, but the 17-year-old scuffed his effort wide of the target. Rayo survive!
Time is also up for Barcelona here. They are now launching balls forward in the search of a late, late equaliser, but the home team are holding firm. No way through so far!
Rayo were in behind! Dest was needed to make the tackle to prevent the home team from getting in behind the Barcelona defence again. The Catalans need to be at the other end!
Chance for de Jong! Dimitrievski made a mistake coming so far off his line and was nearly made to pay for it, but Luuk de Jong sends his lobbed effort over the crossbar.
Roberto Martinez, Xaxi Hernandez and even Jordi Cruyff have all been mentioned as potential replacements for Koeman should he be sacked, but it appears he is safe for the time being. You get the feeling their names will be mentioned again soon...
There is certainly still time for Barcelona to snatch a point here, but they have been toothless throughout. Rayo Vallecano have found it easy to hold them at arm's length.
There will be EIGHT minutes of stoppage time played at the end of the match.
- Yellow cardEsteban SaveljichRayo Vallecano
It should be noted that Saveljich was shown a yellow card. Time is running out for Barcelona!
De Jong struggled to make much of an impression at Sevilla, so there is a sense that he might have fallen upwards by making the move to Barcelona on transfer deadline day.
With Griezmann out the door, Luuk de Jong made the move to Barcelona to replace the Frenchman. The Dutch striker has yet to prove that he is good enough for the Catalans.

- OnLuuk de JongFC Barcelona
Here comes Luuk de Jong for Barcelona - can he make a difference?
PICTURE: No luck for Memphis!
While Barcelona have had injuries to contend with, while their squad is unbalanced and in need of some strengthening in some areas, there is a belief that they are capable of much more.
Frenkie de Jong is missing for Barcelona tonight through injury. The Dutch international has been one of the few players to have thrived under Koeman after a difficult first season at Barca. They have missed him tonight.

A change for the home side and Nteka is on for Rayo.
- OffPhilippe CoutinhoFC Barcelona
- OnPablo GaviFC Barcelona
Here comes Gavi for Barcelona as Coutinho is withdrawn.
Oh dear, Barca. They really needed to take that opportunity from the spot to give themselves a chance of claiming all three points in the final 15 minutes of the match.
PENALTY KICK SAVED! Dimitrievski goes the right way and makes the stop from Memphis! Nothing is going right for Barcelona at the moment!
PENALTY KICK TO BARCELONA! Memphis is kicked inside the box and the referee points to the spot!
Ousmane Dembele is another Barcelona player currently on the sidelines through injury, although there is hope among the coaching staff that the winger might return this weekend.
Ronald Araujo is out injured for Barcelona at the moment which is bad news for them. As suspect as the Catalans have been at the back this season, the Uruguayan has impressed.
Pique is shown a yellow card for a foul on Falcao.
The hope, at least from Barcelona’s point of view, is that Aguero will give them more cutting edge in front of goal. He is a true number nine in the way that the Catalans otherwise lack.
Aguero missed the first two months of the season through injury, but has now made two appearances for Barcelona and scored his goal for the club in Sunday’s Clasico defeat.

- OnUnai LópezRayo Vallecano
Rayo have also made a change of their own with Unai Lopez on.
- OffSergi RobertoFC Barcelona
- OnYusuf DemirFC Barcelona
There's the change for Barcelona with Demir coming on for Alba.
One young player who has made a profound impact at the Camp Nou is Pedri. He is currently sidelined through injury and Barcelona have missed his creativity through the middle.
PICTURE: Rayo have the advantage!
Aguero was in behind! Nico created the chance with a driving run and pass through the centre of the pitch, but the Rayo Vallecano goalkeeper came out quickly to make the save.
Alba is injured! This will be a real concern for Koeman with Alba down on the ground. It appears the Barcelona left back will have to be withdrawn here. The change is being readied.
Chance for Aguero! Good link-up play between Aguero and Dest sees the former presented with a shooting opportunity from a tight angle, but his effort flashes wide of the target!
While Koeman has understandably faced criticism for a lot of the tactical decisions he has made this season, the Dutchman has done a lot to bring through young players like Gavi.
Gavi has been something of a revelation for Barcelona this season. The 17-year-old is already a regular for club and country and has given Koeman another dimension in midfield.
Apologies for the delay in bringing you updates from the start of the second half of this match. There were some technical gremlins on our end that have now been resolved.
PICTURE: Falcao found the net!
- Yellow cardPhilippe CoutinhoFC Barcelona
Coutinho becomes the first Barcelona player to be shown a yellow card.
What sort of reaction will we get from Barcelona in this second half? They need to show more, much more, in the attacking third of the pitch. They have been toothless so far.
- 2nd Half
The second half is under way! Rayo Vallecano have a 1-0 lead over Barcelona in this La Liga fixture!
- End of 1st Half
HALF TIME: Rayo Vallecano 1-0 Barcelona: Falcao's goal is the difference between the two sides at the interval. Barca have some work to do here. The pressure is on them.
Is there one last chance left in this first half for Barcelona to draw level before the interval? Rayo Vallecano will be satisfied with the way they have limited the Catalans.
This hasn't necessarily been a bad performance by Barcelona in this first half, but Koeman will surely want to see more from his team in an attacking sense in the second period.
Aguero takes a corner kick down on his chest, but the clearance is made by the Rayo Vallecano defence before the Barcelona centre forward could get the shot away on goal.
What a chance for Dest! Memphis got to the byline and squared the pass for Dest who got ahead of his marker in the middle, but the American international scoops over the target!
Busquets had one of his best games in a long time in the Clasico. The veteran midfielder has benefited from having the energy and drive of Gavi alongside him in midfield. However, he’s been sloppy tonight.
There were signs of a high press for spells of the first half against Real Madrid, but that faded over the course of the match and the visitors found it too easy to cut through Barca.
Shot from outside the box! Not for the first time in this match, Barcelona give the ball away inside their own half, but Isi couldn't get his effort on target and the Catalans survive.
How will Barcelona respond to falling behind? This match had been pretty even up until that moment, but the Catalan visitors might now find a way back into the contest.
He's still got it! Falcao showed flashes of his old brilliance in the way he took that opportunity, in the way he knew to cut inside and compose himself for the finish! Excellent!
- GoalRadamel FalcaoRayo Vallecano
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Rayo Vallecano 1 (30 mins - Radamel Falcao) Barcelona 0. Falcaooooooooo! He's found the back of the net and Rayo Vallecano have the lead over Barcelona! Busquets lost the ball in his own half and was made to pay for it with Falcao cutting back and guiding a shot in off the inside of the far post!
Another poor result and performance here would once again heap the pressure on Koeman although there are suggestions Barcelona can’t afford to sack the Dutch manager right now.
After a fast start by Rayo Vallecano, there is a growing sense that Barcelona are starting to have more control in this match, but they have yet to create a genuine goalscoring chance.
- Yellow cardÓscar TrejoRayo Vallecano
There's the first yellow card of the night and it's shown to Trejo for a late tackle.
This is a team that has some firepower in the attacking third. Indeed, Rayo Vallecano have scored two or more goals in each of their last four La Liga matches. Barca will have to keep it tight at the back.
However, Rayo Vallecano have been strong at home so far this season. Indeed, they have won all of their last four La Liga matches in front of their home supporters. Fortress!
Despite everything, the omens are good for Barcelona this evening. They have won each of their last 14 meetings against Rayo Vallecano in all competitions. Can they make it 15 in a row?
PICTURE: Still level!
Looking at the replays, that was the correct call from the referee and the officials. There was next to no contact between Aguero and the Rayo Vallecano goalkeeper. No penalty.
Aguero goes down! Nico evades a tackle and plays a ball through for Aguero who prods it past the goalkeeper and goes down. The referee shakes his head - no penalty kick!
Koeman faced criticism for his approach after the defeat to Real Madrid and was even confronted by a number of angry supporters as he left the Camp Nou after the match.
Cross is cleared! A good passing move from Barcelona presents Roberto with the chance to get the cross into the box, but Saveljich makes the clearance at the near post.
While Barca showed some signs of life late on at the weekend, they were comfortably beaten by a Real Madrid team that just looked a bit more certain of their own identity right now than their rivals.
The main man is in attendance!
Just wide! That was a bit sloppy from Rayo Vallecano on the edge of the box with Nico winning the ball back, but Memphis could only send his shot wide of the near post!
Too close to ter Stegen! That was another good opportunity for Garcia to pick someone out in the middle, but once again the ball was too close to the Barcelona goalkeeper.
We've seen very little of Barcelona as an attacking outfit in the first 10 minutes of this match. Rayo Vallecano are the ones taking the game to the Catalan visitors early on.
There has certainly been signs of confidence in the way Rayo Vallecano have started this match. They have seen more of the ball in the opening six minutes of this game.
FROM DISTANCE... saved! Just for a moment it looked like ter Stegen might have been lobbed from the halfway line, but the Barcelona goalkeeper got back in time to make the save.
Rayo have made a good start to this match with Garcia released down the left wing, but his cross into the middle was too close to ter Stegen who makes the simple save!
What sort of match will we witness this evening? Can Barcelona respond positively after suffering defeat at home to Real Madrid in the first Clasico of the season at the weekend?
