Riou joins Auxerre

The 19-year-old stopper will provide competition for current first choice shot stopper Olivier Sorin after impressing on loan at Lorient last season.

Lorient had wanted to take the keeper on loan for another season but failed to find agreement with Lyon, prompting the player to leave Les Gones, where he was third-choice behind Gregory Coupet and Remy Vercoutre.

Riou played 22 Ligue 1 matches for Lorient last season as one of the side's leading lights. Marseille were also linked with a move for his services.

It is not known how much Auxerre have paid for the player.
