Tuchel 'doesn't understand' Neymar PSG captaincy speculation

The former Barcelona star has enjoyed two trophy-laden seasons in the French capital but has been frequently linked with a return to Spain, with both the Catalan club and Real Madrid mooted as potential destinations.

However, Tuchel insists that he will not give the Brazilian the armband ahead of his compatriots Thiago Silva and Marquinhos, saying he is not a good fit for the captaincy.

"For me, [Neymar] does not have the profile to be the captain with the armband," the German told Canal Plus.

"He is a technical leader and attacker. I do not understand why everyone is talking about this thing. We have Thiago Silva and Marquinhos, they are fantastic and we are not going to change."

Neymar scored one goal and assisted another as PSG beat Angers 2-1 on Saturday.
