Jose Mourinho has aimed a thinly veiled dig at Gary Neville after the former Old Trafford full-back criticised his team in the wake of their 3-2 comeback win over Crystal Palace.

Following the game, the ex-Valencia manager, who was sacked after less than four months in charge, told Sky: "I've never seen a Jose Mourinho team as inefficient as this. They're always efficient teams, they always do things really calmly, they are usually solid in defence.
"They've got to come together quickly because they've got to finish the season strongly but, most importantly, how are they going to get to a level that competes next season with Manchester City? They are nowhere near that level out there."
However, the Manchester United manager, speaking ahead of his team’s crucial Premier League match with Liverpool on Saturday, took issue with the comments and hit out at the failures of pundits in their previous roles in charge of teams.
In a comment that was almost certainly aimed at Neville, he said: “Some of the guys with an opinion couldn't resolve their own problems when they were managers, so they are giving opinions like they have solutions for everything.
“It's not like that, but they're in a position where they can give opinions about everything. Sometimes I read and listen, sometimes I don't.
“This week I was more focused on enjoying Champions League and Europa League and preparing my match than be focused on opinions.”
