Wenger open to Bayern move

Arsene Wenger is interested in taking charge of Bayern Munich, the Telegraph reports. The former Arsenal boss rejected a return at Fulham earlier this month, but with Niko Kovac struggling at Bayern – who blew a 3-1 lead to draw with Fortuna on the weekend – Wenger has been mooted as a possible replacement.
Paper Round’s view: It would be some move for the man who seemed to perennially lose to Bayern Munich 5-1 in the Champions League last 16 – there or there abouts anyway. Kovac appears to have lost the dressing room at Bayern, would the players rally around Wenger? Tough to say.

Pulisic has a price

Another from the Telegraph, who claim Borussia Dortmund are willing to sell Christian Pulisic for £70m to Chelsea or Liverpool, so long as he stays until the summer. The 20-year-old will have 12 months left on his contract at the end of the season, which means the £70m fee could put off both sides.
Paper Round’s view: So Dortmund have supposedly named their price, but potential suitors may be unwilling to pay. That plays into their hands, right? Unless he doesn’t sign a new contract…

Ibra to Milan? Zlat’s possible…

AC Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso has refused to rule out the possibility Zlatan Ibrahimovic could return to the club, The Sun reports. The striker failed to make the MLS play-offs with LA Galaxy, and now the Swede has been linked with a return to the club he steered to Serie A glory in 2011. Gattuso told Sky Italia: We'll see, but I think right now we need to concentrate on what we've got and what we need to do. There's no point thinking about it now.”
Paper Round’s view: Zlatan loves an entrance, and also to make his mark at a new club and often a new league, too. Would he want to return to a former haunt? Unless it was back home with Malmo, it does not seem overly likely.

Marko for Man Utd?

Finally, from the Telegraph (again!) it’s the report that claims Manchester United have expressed an interest in signing West Ham striker Marko Arnautovic. A January bid is unlikely, however, with United set to monitor the Austrian for the rest of the season before making a possible move in the summer.
Paper Round’s view: Arnautovic would be a valuable squad addition but surely not the answer to their attacking problems. Those issues are arguably because Jose Mourinho is still there – but perhaps that won’t be the case come summer.
