UEFA Cup and domestic champions FC Porto completed the first treble in the history of Portuguese football on Sunday when they defeated Leiria 1-0 in the Portuguese Cup final courtesy of a 63rd minute strike from prolific Brazilian marksman Derlei.

Leiria, who finished the Portuguese first division a distant 37pts from the champions proved a difficult nut to crack in front of 38,000 fans.
Porto once again relied on the guile and vision of playmaker Deco. The Brazilian-born Portugal international, voted man of the match in the UEFA Cup triumph over Glasgow Celtic, again provided the inspiration and - more importantly - the decisive pass for Derlei to break the deadlock.
Vitor Baia ensured that the famous blue and white stripes claimed their 12th Cup success with a save to deny Silas in the dying seconds of the match.
Porto have qualified for the first group phase of next years Champions League season.
