GOAL! Chris Brunt crashes the ball into the roof of the net from 12 yards! He drifts inside from the right and meets Jones's cutback with an emphatic left-foot finish. No chance Hennessey.

Stephen Ward overlaps down the left and has his cross blocked by Reid. Then Foster makes a fine catch from Jarvis's cross. Strong start from Wolves, though.

O'Hara and Doyle both go to groundin separate incidents, and Wolves double appeal for a free-kick is refused by Mr Foy.

Karl Henry wins the ball in midfield - it's the sort of occasion that you'd think would suit him down to the ground. In other words, derbies often feature lenient refereeing. Chris Foy is today's whistleblower, incidentally.

I'll exclude Petr Cech and his scrumcap from the above statement on hats...

Foster is wearing a cap, which might make sense from a shielding-the-eyes standpoint, but you never quite trust a goalkeeper with headgear, do you? Baseball caps and tracksuit bottoms - a recipe for disaster.

Ward's cross from the left lands with O'Hara whose control is not instant, and his shot is blocked. Then Foster is called into action to save a diagonal Hammill volley from the edge of the box!

West Brom work the ball down the shadowy strip of grass down the left, but the ball bounces out for a goal kick. The Hawthorns is in terrific voice for a Sunday lunchtime.

Wolves kick off, playing from right to left in their black and gold 'home' strip. West Brom in white and navy stripes.

Says @dwarren_74 on Twitter: "Brendan Rodgers is wearing the most extraordinary coat at WBA. How to explain? Like his duvet got polished & patched by a mad old cat lady?"

Mind you, this map would suggest that

This, of course, is always described as the Black Country derby, though I'm not actually sure what area the Black Country encompasses.

It's a lovely day in the West Midlands, with most of the pitch bathed in sunlight. The sprinklers are giving the playing surface a final coating of moisture. Though, as your man Chris Berra suggests, this may not be a slick, one-touch passing encounter.
11:50
Meanwhile, Wolves defender has correctly diagnosed that West Brom are not Spain: "This will be a completely different game from the Spain one. Scotland were always going to be underdogs against Spain. It's a totally different challenge to the British game with the front five or six guys very small and skilful ... Now I've got the derby and the Premier League is already completely different to international football and this will be a real helter skelter."
11:45
Generically bland pre-match comment from West Brom manager Roy Hodgson: "We've had a mixed bag so far. We have the enthusiasm and desire and that's a good start. We were very good in the opening two games against Chelsea and Manchester United without getting any points. There are a lot of good players in our squad and there is no better place than a derby to get us going again."
11:40
West Brom picked up 10 points from their six West Midlands derby matches last season – only today’s opponents Wolves (11) had a better record. They were the only club who were unbeaten at home in their three fixtures – two wins, one draw.
11:35
Wolves have not won in their last eight league visits to The Hawthorns, since a 4-2 victory in the second tier in September 1996. However, West Brom have not won in their last four top flight matches against Wolves, since a 2-1 away victory in May 1982. The smart money on a draw?
11:30
As for Wolves - Adam Hammill and Nenad Milijas come in for Stephen Hunt and Steven Fletcher. Looks like a 4-5-1 for Mick McCarthy.
11:25
Summer signing Billy Jones makes his first Premier League start at left-back for West Brom, while Paul Scharner, Jerome Thomas and Somen Tchoyi come in for Graham Dorrans, James Morrison and Peter Odemwingie.
