The striker, who has struggled for a starting place under manager Tony Pulis, had been linked with a number of clubs including Newcastle, who reportedly had a £24 million bid turned down.
The 22-year-old has previously got into trouble on Twitter for criticising club chairman Jeremy Peace after he was not sold to Tottenham in August. Back then he wrote: "Sad how I can't say exactly how the club has treated me but I can officially say I will never play Jeremy Peace."
And after another move failed to materialise, the 22-year-old took to the social media site again.
He posted: "Everyone waiting once again for the silly little spoilt boy to make same mistake so here you go.
"Goodnight all and thanks for the support."
