Yaya Toure’s agent has suggested that the midfielder’s time at Manchester City will be coming to an end with Pep Guardiola taking over at the club this summer.

City confirmed on Monday that Manuel Pellegrini would be leaving the Etihad Stadium at the end of the season with Bayern Munich boss Guardiola taking over.
Immediately it was speculated that Toure, who left Barcelona with Guardiola at the helm, would not have a future under the Spaniard - and his agent believes that is the case.

On Toure's future...

“I think Yaya will leave the club,” Dimitri Seluk told The Sun.

“But before leaving I hope he will win again the league and all the cups.
“It’s not a question of whether Pep likes him or not. It’s life, you know.

“Pep can call Yaya and speak to him to let him know ‘I’m with you’ or ‘I am not with you’.”

Seluk slams Guardiola

Guardiola sanctioned Toure’s £24 million move to City in 2010 and Seluk also criticised the soon-to-be City manager for leaving Barcelona after he was unable to win La Liga in 2012.
“In my opinion, everyone who has balls must stay in a team not only when they are successful but when things are difficult,” he said.
Will Pep Guardiola win the Premier League title for Manchester City next season?
“Barcelona win because it’s like a big family and their structure is an example for everybody.

“So it’s not a question of persons. Luis Enrique has done the same as Guardiola. It’s not possible to say forever it’s the team of Guardiola.”

As for Begiristain and Soriano...

Seluk then turned his attention to City’s technical director Txiki Begiristain and chief executive Ferran Soriano.
“Yaya opened the door for the people who worked for Barcelona. Yaya went to a place where many changes were necessary,” he continued.

“He was not afraid. But now everybody from Barca comes to City.

“Yaya won every trophy in England without Guardiola. Will Guardiola win without Yaya?”

OUR VIEW

It had been widely speculated that Toure would not have a future at City under Guardiola and now his agent appears to have scuppered any chance he had of staying before the Bayern boss has even arrived. It’s not the first time that Seluk has spoken out regarding Toure’s future and this does not seem to have been helpful for any of the parties involved. It would now be fascinating, if very unlikely, if Guardiola surprises everyone and wants Toure to stay after all.
