Still no contract offer for Mata

We start with an exclusive from The Mail, which says that Manchester United still have not made an offer to Juan Mata with his current contract due to expire at the end of the season. Mata is reported to prefer to stay at United but if there is no offer he will look to stay in the Premier League.
Paper Round's view: Mata is an extremely useful player to have in your squad, he showed that against Newcastle and Juventus, but it can be difficult to fit him in at times. The solution might be to try and convert him into a central midfielder rather than use him as a winger or a No.10. He can certainly still do a job in the Premier League.

Arsenal could sign wonderkid Ramires in January

We now have a report that Arsenal are looking at making a January move for Brazilian wonderkid Ramires. The midfielder, 18, is being heavily linked with a move to the Gunners and it could happen as early as January.
Paper Round's view: Obviously, practically no-one will have seen Ramires play given he's only made nine first-team appearances for Bahia. However, if Arsenal have scouted him as much as the reported six then they must like what little they have seen. Who knows whether he'll be able to make a difference to the Arsenal squad, only time will tell...

Spurs fret over duo's injuries

The Mirror reports that Tottenham Hotspur are concerned over injuries suffered by Mousa Dembele and Danny Rose. Dembele has suffered ankle ligament damage that will keep him out until 2019. Spurs had expected Rose back from a groin injury after the international break but he has suffered a setback and is now facing a fight to be fit for the game against Chelsea.
Paper Round's view: Dembele's last 18 months or so have been blighted by injury, and it is widely expected that he will leave the club at the end of the season. Nevertheless, it is a shame to see how it is ending for him with Spurs. Rose's injury has been covered by the presence of Ben Davies, but Spurs need him back badly.

Fulham consider Parker to replace Jokanovic

We end with Fulham and a report that they are considering promoting Scott Parker from first-team coach to interim manager if they decide to fire Slavisa Jokanovic. Fulham will reportedly consider their options over the upcoming international break.
Paper Round's view: Something has to change at Fulham, they have fallen far short of their pre-season expectations. Plenty of clubs across Europe have had success by promoting from within, and there is no reason Fulham cannot do the same with Scott Parker.
