Conte to be offered Italy role

We start with an exclusive from The Star who report that Antonio Conte will be offered the Italy job at the end of the season. Conte left the national team role at the end of Euro 2016 to take over at Stamford Bridge but is widely expected to leave at the end of the season and reportedly could be fired before.
Paper Round's view: So we're not entirely sure how this can be an exclusive when Alessandro Costacurta admitted that the Italian FA were keen on bringing Conte back but nevertheless it should come as no surprise that he is being snapped up so quickly. He's hardly the first manager to fall out with the Chelsea board and plenty have gone on to find success having left the Bridge.

Mahrez set for big fine with team-mates furious

Time for some Riyad Mahrez news now. It's been widely reported by the papers tonight that he will be fined £200,000 after he missed training for the third day in a row. Mahrez's deadline day move to Manchester City was blocked by the club and the player was reportedly very unhappy at this.
Further to this the Sun have an exclusive that his team-mates have been left furious with his behaviour.
Paper Round's view: It's tough for Mahrez but right now he's just got to suck it up and keep doing his job for the next few months. It's not in Leicester's interests to keep him beyond the summer and he should get his move then.

Paper Round's view: This is a big blow for Fellaini as he continues to fight for his United future. The Telegraph report says that Jose Mourinho is keen for him to stay and that might be enough for the Belgian to get that new contract. However given his age and injury record it seems unlikely that he would get anything more than a one-year contract.

Kompany considers international future

Sticking with The Telegraph to finish and there are some interesting quotes from Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany. The centre-back has insisted he wants to keep playing for Belgium but admitted that he may have to consider his future in order to prolong his club career.
Paper Round's view: Sometimes players retire from international duty and it seems like a big mistake but in Kompany's case it makes total sense if it can allow him to play regularly at club level. Of course such has been Kompany's injury problems over the years that even that may not be enough...
