Arsenal and Spurs chase Bailly

We start with The Mirror who have a report that both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur could be interested in making a January move for Eric Bailly. The centre-back has been frozen out at Manchester United by Jose Mourinho and could look to move on when the window opens again.
Paper Round's view: Bailly is a fine defender but Mourinho has a habit of losing faith in players after a few mistakes, see Juan Mata at Chelsea. Would it be a surprise to anyone to see Bailly move to Arsenal or Spurs and suddenly look like one of the better defenders in the league once more?

Icardi linked to United

We now have a report from The Sun which appears to credit Argentine outlet Ole and it says that Manchester United are ready to spend big in order to bring Mauro Icardi to Old Trafford. Jose Mourinho wants to activate Icardi's release clause but the player would need persuading with a bumper new contract also reportedly in the works.
Paper Round's view: It seems unlikely that United would be able to persuade Icardi to move to Old Trafford, the suggestion always seems to be that if he were to leave Inter it would only be to go to Spain...

Kane denies World Cup hangover

Paper Round's view: Kane is doing an excellent job of sticking to the party line but his start to the season has been concerning, though at least he did manage to break his August drought. Having said that, we were worried about Kane this time last season and he ended up with more than 30 goals and then the World Cup Golden Boot...

Winks to play through pain barrier against Inter

Finally we end with Spurs midfielder Harry Winks. The central midfielder has said that he is prepared to keep playing through the pain as Spurs continue their season against Inter Milan in the Champions League in mid-week.
Paper Round's view: Winks' comments are certainly admirable but he's been struggling with injury for some time now. Liverpool was his first start in the league since December and if he keeps playing through the pain barrier it may have serious repercussions later on...
