Man Utd to offer £175m plus De Gea for Ronaldo

We start with The Mirror, who report that Manchester United are preparing a world-record bid to bring Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford. United will reportedly pay £175 million as well as David De Gea in order to sign Ronaldo and beat off interest from PSG. It is also reported that this wouldn't hinder any potential deal for Ronaldo's team-mate Alvaro Morata.
Paper Round's view: If you were going to predict the teams involved the next time the world transfer record was broken you probably wouldn't have predicted that Real would be the selling team. If Real can invest the money from Ronaldo into Kylian Mbappe, as well as getting De Gea, they'd be in a pretty good place but can they cope without Ronaldo's goals?

Ronaldo keen for United return

On that note we go to The Sun with a report that Ronaldo is desperate for a return to United, where he feels that he has unfinished business. Ronaldo has told his agent Jorge Mendes to make a return happen and he prefers that over a move to PSG or China. It's also reported that Jose Mourinho is willing to look past the final year of his time at Real, when his relationship with Ronaldo broke down.
Paper Round's view: Ronaldo's willingness to return to United speaks volumes of his connection with the United fans, as well as Sir Alex Ferguson. It's also interesting to note that Mourinho is willing to swallow his pride regarding Ronaldo, a testament to just how good a signing the forward would be.

Chelsea to up Sandro bid

The Express report that having failed with a bid of £52m for Alex Sandro, Premier League champions Chelsea will return with an improved offer worth £60m. Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is reportedly very keen on the Brazilian and sees him as a key part of his summer transfer strategy.
Paper Round's view: Whilst it doesn't seem likely that Conte will just walk away from Chelsea, the board would probably be wise to give him a signing or two in the near future, particularly if United do press ahead and sign Ronaldo. Sandro would be an excellent addition given that towards the end of the season Marcos Alonso started to struggle.

Liverpool close in on Salah

Finally we return to The Mirror, who report that Liverpool are confident that they'll be able to conclude a deal worth £35m for Mohamed Salah. Talks with Roma have been ongoing and a deal is believed to have been done with Salah keen on a return to the Premier League.
Paper Round's view: Salah would give Liverpool another exciting attacking proposition and it's a good early bit of business from Jurgen Klopp if it can be done soon. More signings need to be made though.
