Luke Shaw is set to depart Manchester United in the summer following the deterioration in his relationship with Jose Mourinho. It's Monday's Paper Round.
Shaw set for United exit after training ground bust-up
We start with a story doing the rounds across the papers with reports that Luke Shaw is set to leave Manchester United in the summer. The Sun reports that before Shaw was substituted at half-time of the FA Cup victory over Brighton the pair had a training ground bust-up. Shaw had asked Mourinho about his future and Mourinho lost his temper with the full-back.
The Times report that one potential destination for Shaw when he leaves could be Tottenham Hotspur, which would mean a reunion with former manager Mauricio Pochettino.
And The Telegraph carry the line that a lot of players at United are stunned by Mourinho's treatment of Shaw with some considering it "bullying".
Paper Round's view: Is anyone really surprised by this? Be it a senior pro or a young star Mourinho loves making examples of certain players. He has done it throughout his career and he has done it with Shaw. The full-back needs to leave Old Trafford and get a new start.
Fred set for United over City
The next story comes from The Star who report that Shakhtar Donetsk star Fred is more likely to move to Manchester United than Manchester City. The report says that City no longer see Fred as a priority and instead United are pushing ahead, keen to fend off PSG.
Paper Round's view: This would be the second signing is as many windows that United have beaten City to but so far Alexis Sanchez isn't exactly working out... United need to hope that Fred hits the ground running.
Dembele wants new Spurs contract
An exclusive from The Sun says that Mousa Dembele is set to open talks over a new Spurs contract. The Belgian international is in the final 18 months of his contract and wants to see his wages rise to £100,000-a-week.
Paper Round's view: Over the past few seasons Dembele has been one of the best players for Spurs and he is an incredibly unique player. There are very few others who managed to blend his power, precision and technique. Spurs need to keep him as long as possible until they find a possible replacement.
Celtic and Stoke chase Gunn
Finally, we have an exclusive from The Sun that says that Angus Gunn is a target of both Celtic and Stoke. The Manchester City keeper, on loan at Norwich City, has been impressive in the Championship and Stoke want him in case Jack Butland leaves. Celtic are concerned over the fitness of Craig Gordon,35, and see 22-year-old Gunn as a long-term option.
Paper Round's view: Gunn is a very talented young goalkeeper but it seems highly unlikely he'll ever make it at City given the presence of Ederson. Be it Stoke or Celtic, Gunn's next move has to be somewhere he will be the number one.
