Spurs eye Martial

We start in The Mirror with a report that having signed a new five-year contract Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino wants to get busy in the transfer market. Martial is the primary target whilst Pochettino also wants to sign Matthijs de Ligt and Ryan Sessegnon.
Paper Round's view: Paper Round has been saying for some time now how important it is for Spurs to secure Pochettino's future and they've now done exactly that. If he can add these three players into the already talented Spurs squad things could be very exciting in North London next season...

Liverpool close in on Fekir

Sticking with The Mirror and it is reported that Liverpool are closing in on the signing of Lyon forward Nabil Fekir for a fee of between £60-70 million. The report is across all the papers tonight and it seems that Liverpool will finalise this deal once the Champions League final is over. The Reds reportedly see Fekir as their replacement for Philippe Coutinho.
Paper Round's view: Think how good this Liverpool attack has been this season. Then add in Fekir. And then add in Naby Keita in midfield. That is one outrageous forward line...

Man Utd look to bolster squad with Fred and Alderweireld

In The Daily Star it is reported that Manchester United are closing in on a double signing with deals for Fred and Toby Alderweireld close. Both players will cost over £50 million as Jose Mourinho looks to seal the deals before the World Cup starts.
Paper Round's view: These seem like intelligent signings, two players that address obvious needs for United. The defence could probably do with one more player but it would appear that United are moving in the right direction.

Wimmer to leave Stoke

And we end in The Mail where it is reported that Kevin Wimmer will be leaving Stoke City in the near future. He joined from Tottenham Hotspur for £18 million last summer but failed to kick on and will now sign for Hannover on loan with a view to a permanent move.
Paper Round's view: It's incredible how quickly things can go wrong. There was a period when Jan Vertonghen was out injured that Wimmer excelled at Spurs next to Alderweireld. Hopefully he can find his form in Germany.
