Hazard on the scoresheet again as Chelsea beat Bournemouth
Updated 28/10/2017 at 18:52 GMT
Eden Hazard struck for the third game in a row as Chelsea secured a deserved win over Bournemouth.
The Blues had 12 attempts in the first half but were unable to break the deadlock with Alvaro Morata seeing a goal disallowed for offside.
But they managed to get on the score sheet in the second half after a horror show from the Cherries defence allowed Hazard to rifle the ball past Asmir Begovic at his near post.
Eddie Howe’s men were limited to half chances and their hopes of an equaliser faded after Junior Stanislas and Benik Afobe both limped off with injuries.
And Antonio Conte’s side held on for an important win to climb up to fourth place in the table - while Bournemouth slip to 19th - ahead of Tuesday's Champions League game away at Roma.
TALKING POINT
What has happened to Alvaro Morata? The Spaniard started the season on fire with seven goals in his first seven games. But he has gone without a goal in five matches and spurned two good opportunities inside the box against the Cherries. His movement was good and he provided a sublime ball for Hazard's goal but he looks short of confidence.
MAN OF THE MATCH
Eden Hazard (Chelsea): The Belgian continued his rich goal-scoring form to give the Blues a much-needed boost in their title aspirations. He looked sharp and was at the heart of his side’s best moves against a stubborn defence.
