CLOSE! De Bruyne's free kick from the right is met by Aguero who heads inches wide. That would have been the ultimate of rescue acts. The Kop collectively sighs a major sigh of relief. Liverpool just about getting over the line after previously looking like swaggering to an emphatic win.

Palpable anxiety from the Kop, but Liverpool do enough to repel a City corner.
Enough time for City to save this or make Liverpool anxious?

GOAL! City pull one back. Bernardo Silva slots past Karius after the ball broke his way in the area.
The Reds break again but this time Wijnaldum drills just wide from 25 yards.
City pressing but it's leaving gaps for Liverpool's forwards to pour forward on the counter.

LIVERPOOL CHANGE: Can replaced by Milner.
Walker earns City a corner. A goal now could make life a bit nervy for the Reds. De Bruyne floats one in and Karius is all at sea again. City can't make it count though.

MAN CITY CHANGE: Sterling replaced by Bernardo Silva. Cue huge cheers from the Liverpool crowd.
- Yellow cardRaheem SterlingManchester City
Huge cheers as Sterling is booked for a wild hack at Wijnaldum.
Even with Liverpool's defence, you'd expect City's unbeaten run to end at 30 matches today.
- GoalMohamed SalahLiverpool
GOAL! It's surely game over! Ederson comes out of his area, but kicks straight to Salah who wastes little time curling a wonderful 40-yard lob into an empty net.
- Yellow cardNicolás OtamendiManchester City
Otamendi booked for dumping Salah to the floor.
So, City's 30-match unbeaten run looks in real trouble.

Wow! No chance to reflect or catch your breath!
- GoalSadio ManéLiverpool
GOAL! The hosts are on fire. Mane collects a pass on the edge of the box and fires a rising shot into the top right-hand corner of Ederson's net.
Liverpool pour forward again. Mane lets fly with a curler that comes back off the post!
Firmino's 10th in the PL and 17th of the season has given Anfield a huge lift after City had started this half well.
- GoalRoberto FirminoLiverpool
GOAL! What a finish. Firmino uses his strength to beat Stones to the Ox's pass and dink a lovely effort beyond Ederson and in off the far post.
Ederson gets a weak punch on the corner but redeems himself with a super stop to keep out Salah's thunderbolt. Liverpool keep it alive and the impressive Oxlade Chamberlain cuts in from the left and sees his low shot beaten away at the near post.
The Ox combines with Mane on the left, with the latter winning a corner off Walker.
STAT: Liverpool could remain unbeaten in their first 12 PL home matches in a season for the first time since 2011-12.
City looking very menacing at the start of this half. De Bruyne is a class act.
WOODWORK! Otamendi rises to meet a left-wing corner and plants a thumping header against the bar. Unlucky.
Ederson's quick throw releases De Bruyne, who is strong to hold off Wijnaldum. The Belgian feeds Sterling who in turn finds Aguero, but the Argentine's shot inside the box is blocked behind for a corner.
Walker with a firm header to clear the Ox's dangerous left-wing corner.
PHOTO: Sane's joy.
Sloppy play from City as Liverpool press high. Fernandinho overcooks a pass to Stones who just about prevents the corner.

HT: Liverpool 1-1 Man City. Oxlade Chamberlain's scorching opener is cancelled out by Sane's solo strike after an entertaining first 45 of football.
Two minutes added.
Wijnaldum escapes on the left. He cuts in ready for the shot, but hesitates and the chance goes begging.
Just the fifth league goal the Reds have conceded at Anfield.
Cue more talk of Liverpool needing a new goalkeeper...
- GoalLeroy SanéManchester City
GOAL! Sane jinks in from the left after Gomez misjudged a long pass. The forward glides beyond Matip and rifles a shot past Karius at his near post. The keeper should do better there.
When Mane, Firmino and Salah combine Liverpool are a real threat. This time the latter sets his sights from range, but Ederson is right behind it.
Fair to say the Ox has had a superb first half.
Wijnaldum has a crack from 30 yards but sees his venomous drive well blocked.
What wonderful tackle by Mane, sliding in to deny Aguero as he looked to pull the trigger 25-30 yards out.
Robertson crunches into Sterling and concedes a goal kick at the Kop end. The Liverpool supporters enjoyed that despite seeing a promising attack come to an end.
De Bruyne shoots from 30 yards but Karius is right behind it.
ATTEMPTS: Liverpool 4-1 Man City.
Mane looks for Firmino, who causes Otamendi real concern before Ederson comes to his aid by racing off his line to smother.
Oxlade Chamberlain with more great work, shrugging off Danilo and whipping in a fabulous cross that Firmino glances wide of the near post on the run.
- OffFabian DelphManchester City
- OnDaniloManchester City
MAN CITY CHANGE: Danilo does finally come on to replace the injured Delph.
Salah shimmies beyond one challenge but can't get past Stones, who halts him with a crunching tackle.
A good spell of possession sees Liverpool probe on the right. Oxlade Chamberlain eventually floats a ball towards the far side of the box where Firmino is unmarked, but the Brazilian can't quite reach it.
A reminder that City have won just once at Anfield since 1981. That was in 2003. They've gone 16 matches without success since. Not a happy hunting ground.
Danilo gets fully stripped and ready - but Delph gestures to the bench that he wants to continue. Bib back on for Danilo!
Delph down injured after stretching to try and tackle the Ox. Meanwhile, Guardiola moans to the fourth official about something.
City waste two corners, with De Bruyne's final delivery flying harmlessly out of play.
Sane turns brilliantly to make space for a shot and sees his 25-yard effort take a wicked deflection off Lovren. It flies a few yards wide but it could have gone anywhere.
Sane takes a free kick from the left, but it's very poor and easily nodded to safety by Robertson.
STAT: The Merseysiders have kept nine shut outs in their last 13 league matches on home turf.
De Bruyne sends a pearl of ball into the six-yard box where Aguero is an inch away from touching in the leveller on the stretch. Replays showing the Argentine was offside, but take nothing away from the pass. Sublime.
PHOTO: The Ox celebrates.
De Bruyne arcs a fast-paced right-wing free kick into the middle, but Karius comes out and claims with real authority.
Liverpool come again. Firmino slips it through for Salah, who wriggles past Otamendi but eventually toe pokes well wide of the near post.
This is developing into an exciting, open match. Mane surges free down the left. He drifts inside but overdoes it. A back heel releases Salah but his dinked cross can't find a teammate.
City counter at pace. De Bruyne has Sane and Gundogan to his left but instead opts for Sterling on his right, who has strayed offside. Let off for Liverpool.
Anfield buzzing after that early strike. This was seen as a big test of City's unbeaten run and it's just got that bit tougher now.
That was the Ox's fourth of the season.
- GoalAlex Oxlade-ChamberlainLiverpool
GOAL! The hosts lead! Oxlade Chamberlain picks up a loose ball 35 yards out and skips beyond a challenge before rifling a low shot into the far bottom corner.
Replays showing very little contact from Can on Sterling. That won't make him any more popular with his old club's supporters!
Sterling tumbles under pressure from Can after the German got wrong side in his own area trying to defend De Bruyne's ball in from the right. The referee isn't interested.
The last time City did the league double over Liverpool was back in 1936-37. They went on to win their first top-flight title.
Sterling booed heavily by the Anfield crowd as he looks to engineer an opening with Aguero down the right flank.
Liverpool almost in. Firmino's lovely flick from Matip's ball over the top sends Mane clear, but the forward's first touch is poor. Salah takes over but sees his 20-yard shot blocked.
So, it's a battle of the unbeaten runs. Liverpool haven't lost in 17 in all competitions while Man City are 30 unbeaten in the top-flight. There are only five runs better than the Citizens' current one in top-flight history.
Head to head in the league at Anfield: Liverpool 50 wins, Man. City 13 wins, 18 draws.

KICK OFF! Liverpool get us underway after a minute's applause in memory of former Reds keeper, Tommy Lawrence who sadly passed away recently.
STAT: Liverpool's goal difference of +25 equals the best they've ever had after 22 matches of a Premier League campaign. It was matched back in 2013-14.
With Salah back, Klopp opting to stick with Karius, no van Dijk and Lovren being named captain for the day, there's not been much mention of Coutinho's move so far this afternoon. Mind you, if you believe the Ox, Liverpool won't miss him.
So much for the old manager of the month curse...
Guardiola: "Of course if you want to achieve something that's good and win titles you have to win these kind of games. This season we were able to do that but we still have to go to Anfield, to Tottenham - there are still lots of games to play."
Liverpool saw Sadio Mane sent off as they were hammered 5-0 at City in September in one of their two Premier League defeats so far. It equalled the Citizens' highest ever win over the Reds (set at Anfield back in 1937).
Klopp has been speaking to Liverpool's official website about his team selection today. Here's what he said about van Dijk....
DID YOU KNOW? Aguero loves playing Liverpool on home turf and has found the net in all six league matches he has featured against them at Etihad Stadium. However, he has never scored at Anfield. Will that change today?
Guardiola rings the changes for City after resting some of his stars for the League Cup clash with Bristol City. Ederson returns between the sticks with Kyle Walker, Nicolas Otamendi and Fabian Delph coming back into the defence. Fernandinho is also reinstated with Sergio Aguero leading the attack.
There's mixed news for Liverpool as Virgil van Dijk misses out with a tight hamstring. However, top scorer Mo Salah returns as one of three changes to the side that edged past Everton in the FA Cup. Dejan Lovren replaces van Dijk while Georginio Wijnaldum also comes in with Adam Lallana and James Milner amongst the substitutes. Loris Karius retains his place in goal ahead of Simon Mignolet.
CONFIRMED TEAMS - LIVERPOOL: Karius, Gomez, Lovren, Matip, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Can, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Salah, Mane, Firmino... Subs: Mignolet, Milner, Klavan, Lallana, Ings, Solanke, Alexander-Arnold. /// MAN CITY: Ederson, Walker, Otamendi, Stones, Delph, Fernandinho, Gundogan, Sterling, De Bruyne, Sane, Aguero... Subs: Bravo, Danilo, Mangala, D.Silva, B.Silva, Zinchenko, Diaz.
Hello and welcome to one of the most anticipated Premier League showdowns of the season at Anfield. It's Jurgen Klopp's fourth-placed Liverpool against Pep Guardiola's runaway leaders Manchester City. The Merseysiders are capable of beating the very best on their day, but will they have enough without Philippe Coutinho to inflict a first league defeat of the season on Pep's champions-elect? Kick off 16:00 GMT.
