FT: Liverpool 2-0 Newcastle. Salah and Mane are on target as the Reds move up to second.
Salah sprints clear. He looks all set to net his second and then goes down under a challenge from Lascelles. The referee looks at his assistant, but gets no help and decides against giving anything. It would have been a free kick on the edge of the box and a red card.Newcastle get away with one, but it won't affect the result. Liverpool are seconds from victory.

Job done for Liverpool. They haven't been at their best against a well organised Newcastle, but look set for the three points. Newcastle will now turn their focus to big home games against Southampton and Huddersfield.
Salah goes down under a late challenge on the right of the box. The referee has a long look but doesn't point to the spot.

Joselu gets half a sniff of goal, but sees his effort blocked. Newcastle cry for a penalty but the referee isn't interested.
The Reds will also be 17 unbeaten in the league at Anfield. Cystal Palace were the last side to win in L4 back in April last year.
It's going to be 25 points from their last 10 for Liverpool, who are hitting red-hot form at a key point in the season.
Firmino sees a shot blocked before Henderson's 20-yard drive deflects a few yards wide.

Newcastle catch Liverpool out with a quick short corner on the right. It's curved into the box where Hayden rises well, but plants his header a couple of yards wide.

Newcastle look set to make the first change of the night. Rafa needs more in the attacking third, but it could open up more chances for Liverpool.

This could be a long 30 minutes or so for Newcastle, who will be 16th, two points above the dropzone if they lose here.
As it stands, Liverpool will move second, one point clear of Man United. The Red Devils play Crystal Palace on Monday.
Murphy surges down the left flank but can't find Gayle with his low ball into the middle as Karius comes out well to claim.
Liverpool heading towards second spot unless Newcastle can find something special.

STAT: Salah's goal means Liverpool have claimed the Premier League record of scoring in 22 consecutive home games against a single opponent.
Liverpool call for a penalty as Salah's shot is blocked by what they feel is the hand of Lascelles. It was very close and the referee waves away the appeal.
Not much has changed at the start of this half. Newcastle look content to defend deep.

Salah opens up the legs and gallops free on the break. He tries to cut in from the right, but Dummett reads it and manages to halt the Reds forward in his tracks. Superb defending from the Magpies man.

HT: Liverpool 1-0 Newcastle. Another goal from Salah five minutes before the break separates the sides after the visitors had restricted the Merseysiders to very few openings.
SAVE! Mohamed Diamé arrives on the edge of box and fires a super effort towards the top corner that Karius brilliantly tips over the top.

Salah also equalling that club record of scoring in 19 PL games in a single season.
That was Salah's 32nd of the season and his 24th in the league. He has now netted in seven straight games for the Reds.

GOAL! Liverpool have the lead and it's Salah once again. The forward coolly fires home after a superb, probing run from Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Newcastle look shaky defending another Liverpool set piece. Van Dijk looks to get involved and it bounces around the danger zone before a Magpies defender eventually hacks it to safety.

So far, so good for Bentiez and Newcastle. They've set up to frustrate the home side, who have laboured for long spells. Liverpool are at their best when they have an urgency in their play.
Liverpool need two goals here to clock up 200 in the league under Klopp. It is the German's 97th PL match in charge of the Reds.
STAT: The Merseysiders have scored at least twice in 13 of their last 14 games in all competitions.
Liverpool are having some joy from corners. Salah whips another one into the danger zone, but no-one is there to take advantage of Dubravka's missed punch.
Liverpool's 103 goals this season is second only to Man City in terms of PL sides - but you wouldn't think it based upon the first half an hour or so tonight.

Can and Firmino combine to tee up Salah who passes up the first-time shot and is eventually blocked out after over-complicating it.
A couple of bites of the cherry for Lovren from the resulting corner, but he can't make either count as Dubravka saves before Merino blocks.
Alexander-Arnold races to the byline and drives in a dangerous cross that Lejeune nods clear with Salah inches away from connecting in front of him.
Patience could be key for the hosts, but they will need to crank it up a gear to be unlock this well organised Magpies defence.
Florian Lejeune sizes up the free kick and hammers a low, bouncing effort towards goal that Karius is able to watch all of the way and easily stop.
Free kick to Newcastle. It's a good 40 yards out in a central position.
Can curves a ball into the middle from a central position. It's aimed towards Salah but far too close to Dubravka.
You have to go back to 1974 for the last time these two teams played out a goalless draw. That was at St James' Park. At Anfield the last stalemate was in 1970.
Can meets the free kick with a lopping header which lands a few yards wide of Dubravka's right-hand post.
Free kick to Liverpool right of centre, 50 yards out. The hosts will send Lovren and van Dijk forward.
STAT: Newcastle have taken the lead in all of their last four league games, but have gone onto triumph in just one of those. The Magpies have drawn five and lost just one of their last eight.
Salah makes a diagonal run onto Can's pass and wastes little time in lashing a volley from the left side of the area into the side netting. A cracking effort from a man clearly high on confidence.
Yedlin knocks it beyond Robertson and motors clear on the right before seeing his low cross land too close to Karius.
The Ox launches a sublime cross-field pass 40 yard pass into the path of Salah on the right, but the forward surprisingly miss-controls it.
Liverpool with 87 per cent of the possession so far, but they haven't really hurt the visitors yet.
CLOSE! A cross from the left is touched into Salah's path by Firmino, but the Egyptian sees his stinging shot blocked by Dummett.
Mane with space to run at his man on the left, but he trips over and Newcastle are able to avert the danger.
Benitez remains a creature of habit, scribbling notes that once upon a time led Liverpool to Champions League glory - but are now aimed at stopping his former club.
Henderson rakes a pass through the centre for the run of Mane, but Martin Dubravka is off his line sharply to pluck it out of the air.
Fair to say it's very chilly at Anfield.
Liverpool are beginning to dominate possession and force Newcastle back.
Lascelles recovers well to block Mane from close range after he had initially misjudged a right-wing cross. First moment of concern for Rafa and Co.
It's 4-5-1 for Newcastle against Liverpool's favoured 4-3-3 and that free-scoring front trio. Can the visitors nullify their threat?

PREVIOUSLY: Joselu earned the Magpies a 1-1 draw when he cancelled out Philippe Coutinho's opener at St James' Park earlier in the campaign.
An ex-Red is expecting plenty of goals!
SCINTILLATING SALAH: Another game, another record up for grabs for Salah. If he finds the net this evening he will equal a club record of scoring in 19 Premier League matches in a single season. Only Robbie Fowler (1994-95) and Daniel Sturridge (2013-14) have achieved the feat.
DID YOU KNOW? Benitez has drawn all three of his Premier League matches against Liverpool, including two 2-2 draws at Anfield.
STAT: Liverpool have won 17 of the last 21 meetings at Anfield and are unbeaten in that time. Newcastle have tasted victory just twice in their last 44 league visits. You have to go back to April 1994 for the last of those when the Magpies picked up a 2-0 success.
Liverpool actually start this game in fourth following Tottenham's victory over Huddersfield. Newcastle have dropped to 16th as Swansea's revival under Carlos Carvalhal continued at the expense of West Ham. The Magpies are just two points clear of the dropzone.
Benitez: "The relationship (with Liverpool), the connection, is so obvious. We just have to make sure we do our best in this game and then afterwards wish them all the best."
Jurgen Klopp: "I like Rafa Benitez as a person but we've given enough presents to him! We were 2-0 up [at Anfield in 2016 and drew 2-2]."
Three changes for Newcastle: With the blow of Jonjo Shelvey's knee injury, Benitez turns to Mikel Merino in midfield. Jacob Murphy and Christian Atsu also start for the visitors.
Two changes for Liverpool: Captain Jordan Henderson returns in midfield while Dejan Lovren comes in to partner Virgil van Dijk in the centre of the home side's defence. Joel Matip and James Milner drop to the bench.
