Manchester United set to sell Paul Pogba as Jose Mourinho patience runs out - report

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is ready to sanction the sale of £89m man Paul Pogba this summer, with Anthony Martial, Daley Blind and Matteo Darmian also heading for the exit door, according to the Daily Mail.

The Mail claims Mourinho's relationship with the France midfielder has soured dramatically this season with Pogba replaced during the dismal 1-0 defeat by relegation-haunted West Brom at Old Trafford on Sunday - a result that handed bitter rivals Manchester City the title.
The report also points out that Pogba has been named as a substitute or replaced in his seven of his past 11 games for the club.
United will look to recoup the world record £89m they paid Juventus to sign the player two years ago, and it is unclear if the United board will agree with the decision to part ways with Pogba.
There are claims that Mourinho will wield the axe with United bidding to salvage some silverware from the season when they face Tottenham in the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley on Saturday with reports that Pogba and Alexis Sanchez could be benched for the tie.
United visit Bournemouth in the Premier League on Wednesday before the trip to Wembley, with Mourinho hinting that places are up for grabs.
"If I play a player against Bournemouth and the player is phenomenal, he plays the semi-final," said Mourinho.
"So is not rotating, because rotating looks like a player plays against Bournemouth to give a rest to somebody that is going to play against Spurs in the semi-final.
So the word is not rotation, it is an opportunity for people, for some people, to play and to try to get a place in the team for Spurs. Some of the guys that played (on Sunday) don't have a place in that team.
Martial, Damian and Blind are also in line for the chop as Mourinho attempts to build a United side capable of challenging for the Premier League title, according to the Mail.

If Mourinho is ready to part company with Pogba only two years after the player returned to Old Trafford, he must take his share of the blame.
For such a massive outlay, Pogba has yet to justify his billing as the world's most expensive midfielder. Yet part of his problem appears to stem from his struggles to fit into Mourinho's system at the club, which seems to have negated his natural explosiveness.
There is also the interesting subject of Mourinho's own future.
History suggests he does not stay at clubs for more than three years. And entering his third year at Old Trafford, it is clear United are far from the finished article despite spending millions and millions in a bid to win the Premier League for the first time since 2013.
If the United board are unhappy about Mourinho's apparent willingness to sell Pogba, it will provide as many question marks over the manager's future as Pogba's.
