PSG target Guardiola switch

Paris Saint-Germain are targeting Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola as their next manager. With Guardiola rarely staying too long at his former clubs - four years at Barcelona and three at Bayern Munich - they think they can tempt the Spaniard to France when his current deal at The Etihad ends in 16 months. They have Neymar, and countless riches, to use to bring him to the club.
Paper Round's view: Guardiola is already an ambassador for Qatar's World Cup, so there is probably already a communication line set up should he be tempted to make the move. Unless City start to fill their ground, it is unlikely he will feel as if there is a successful, long-term project to engage with, and living in a city like Paris might tempt him to move his family.

Sanchez-Mkhitaryan switch poised to go through

The proposed swap between Manchester United and Arsenal for Alexis Sanchez and Henrikh Mhkitaryan appears close to completion after the Armenian midfielder said a "tearful goodbye" to colleagues at United's training ground yesterday. Mkhitaryan's move was held up by negotiations by his agent Mino Raiola, but any concerns seem to have been resolved.
Paper Round's view: Raiola is often criticised for making sure he gets the most amount of money out of any deal, but there haven't been any huge complaints from his players, who are free to switch should they not like the tactics he employs. While people may resent him finding a way to earn from a swap deal, it is merely him doing his job for his client, who will now also find more time on the pitch at Arsenal.

Spurs emerge as favourites for Malcolm

Tottenham Hotspur appear to be Malcolm's likeliest next destination, with the Brazilian 20-year-old likely to stay Bordeaux for the rest of the season before joining in the summer for a fee of around £40m. Arsenal and Manchester United were both reported as interested in the playmaker, but Arsenal want more established players, and United have probably secured Alexis Sanchez.

Paper Round's view: Malcolm is the kind of player Spurs should be signing. He is young, and so represents a player that Mauricio Pochettino can train and improve, and should he ever be sold it will be at a profit. It also means that Spurs will have an additional creative threat alongside Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen, as they attempt to stay in the hunt for Champions League places, and perhaps more.

Enrique lined up as Conte replacement

Chelsea are considering replacing current coach Antonio Conte with ex-Barcelona manager Luis Enrique. Former Chelsea defender Juliano Belletti would join him as director of football, as Roman Abramovich wants to recreate the style of play seen at Barcelona. Conte's contract only runs until the end of next season, and is unhappy with a lack of signings.

Paper Round's view: Given Chelsea are currently interested in players like Andy Carroll and Peter Crouch, it seems that they do need a director of football to make sure the squad is more balanced, and they aren't reduced to bizarre transfer window moves. However, Conte has built a younger squad for Chelsea compared to the one he inherited, and might deserve another year to keep up the transformation.
