Diego Simeone wants Jamie Vardy, Jack Wilshere offered to PSG, Nabil Fekir is on the verge of his Liverpool move and Emre Can's deal to Juventus looks done. It's Sunday's Paper Round!

Atletico target Vardy swoop

Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone is planning to replace Antoine Griezmann, who is expected to leave this summer, with Jamie Vardy. The 31-year-old England international impressed Simeone in the Champions League last season, and has two years remaining on his current deal at the King Power Stadium. The striker is rated at £16m, but it is believed that an offer of £20m is the minimum to have a chance of completing the deal.

Paper Round's view: Vardy appears still to be in excellent shape, so for £20m any club would get a player capable of causing havoc on the left of the pitch or through the middle for a few seasons yet. For just £20m, that would be a relative bargain, though you would assume that Atletico would want to bring in more quality elsewhere in the side. The risk, of course, is that the English Vardy would find it difficult to adjust to a different country and league so late in his career.

Wilshere offered to PSG

England international Jack Wilshere has been offered to Paris Saint-Germain. The 26-year-old midfielder's Arsenal contract is on the cusp of expiring, and he has not been picked for the World Cup despite making 40 appearances this season. However, he is under consideration by Antero Henrique, the sporting director at PSG. Any deal would have to be run by incoming manager Thomas Tuchel.

Paper Round's view: Wilshere missing out on the World Cup, and his availability on a free transfer, would make him attractive to any side looking to get their business done early, especially before the World Cup. When fit, Wilshere has an ability to run powerfully from deep, make challenges for possession, and offer plenty of support to the forwards. The key is staying fit, which might not be so simple in the physically demanding Ligue 1.

Fekir £60m move almost completed

Nabil Fekir's £60m move to Liverpool is, '99% complete,' according to reports in France. The 24-year-old France international has been non-committal about his Lyon future, and he is now expected by some to link up with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp. The Lyon captain has scored 22 goals in 38 games for the French side this season. When asked about his future, he said: "As I said before, my only priority is to win this match against Nice. I am only thinking about this. After the match, we’ll see."

Paper Round's view: Fekir is just 24 and has overcome a serious injury to continue to improve in France. He is one of the most exciting young talents in Ligue 1 who has not yet been tempted abroad for more money to a bigger club. With Liverpool's well-stocked forward line, he will be given the chance to impress and integrate at his own pace, but there is no doubt he could be a devastating attacker as soon as next season.

Juventus optimistic over Can deal

Juventus's chief executive, Giuseppe Marotta, appeared close to confirming a deal has been struck for Liverpool midfielder Emre Can. The 24-year-old Germany international's deal at Anfield expires at the end of the season, and he has long been rumoured to be joining Juventus on a free transfer. When asked, Marotta said: "Emre Can? I am very optimistic. You can read my smile…"

Paper Round's view: Marotta's hint suggests that a deal is essentially done, which is a blow for Liverpool, who will now have to replace the midfielder despite receiving no transfer fee for him. For Juventus, it is yet another bargain they have secured in the transfer market. Can could hold down a place in the Juventus midfield for a decade, or at least five years at the top of his game, representing superb value for money for the Italian champions.
