Sam Allardyce rules out Palace return after speaking to Selhurst Park chief

Sam Allardyce has ruled out a dramatic return to Crystal Palace after receiving a call from chairman Steve Parish on Monday.

The 62-year-old revealed he spoke to Parish on the phone only hours after Palace sacked Frank de Boer with the London club losing their first four Premier League matches. They have yet to score a goal.
Allardyce quit the job after saving Palace from relegation at the end of last season with Parish keen to hear the former West Ham and England manager's advice on life after the short-lived De Boer project.
“I spoke to Steve late this afternoon and said you know, for me, I would not be ready to come back," said Allardyce on Sky Sports.

“I’ve made the decision and I would not feel comfortable at this time. I’m not ready to take on a new position.
I’m enjoying my life too much at the moment and I’m enjoying watching everyone else under pressure. I’m very sad after all the hard work that was put in last season to rescue the team. It was a great end to a tough start at Crystal Palace.
After Parish recruited De Boer in an attempt to "evolve", the Palace chairman admitted he blundered by taking a chance on the former Ajax and Inter coach.
They have been linked with a move for Roy Hodgson, who has been out of work since England's 2-1 defeat to Iceland in the last 16 of Euro 2016.
"I have just heard the news that Frank has left today which is obviously very disappointing for him and for Palace," said Allardyce.
