Ferguson underwent brain surgery in hospital as he began his recovery, and left hospital in June this year.
Ferguson spoke to MUTV upon his return:
I’m a bit nervous... because the last game was Arsenal back in April. It was a long time but it’s great to be back and I just hope we get a win today. I’m overcome by it and overwhelmed by it. It’s bound to be emotional. Particularly when I take my seat in the box. That will be something, you know. I’ll be glad when it gets over and the game starts and I can enjoy it.
United have told fans to be ready for a presentation to Ferguson at 2.45pm at Old Trafford, ahead of the clash against Wolves.
In July, Ferguson released a video to the public, saying: "Just a quick message, first of all, to thank the medical staff at Macclesfield, Salford Royal and Alexandra Hospitals.
"Believe me, without those people, who gave me such great care, I would not be sitting here today.
"Thank you from me and my family, thank you very much.
"It has made me feel so humble, as have all the messages from all over the world, wishing me the best.
"The good wishes do resonate very strongly with me so thank you for that support you have given me."
