CHANCE! Why doesn't Chris Smalling throw himself at that as he tiptoes in to the far post? He knows he should have done, and knows that Matip was never going to stick a boot out for fear of diverting it into his own net.
Sturridge leaps up to get his head to the ball but also pushes the defender out of his way as he does so.

Pogba's trying to create space to have a run at the Liverpool defence, and instead draws a foul.

And McTominay is all over Matip, who heads over.
McTominay puts it out - another corner.
Milner shows a burst of pace down the right, and it's Pogba on defensive duties to concede the corner.
Shaqiri is preparing to enter the fray.
Wijnaldum takes a chance, cutting in on the left, but the shot is not good enough.
Mane looks to dink in a ball but Lindelof hacks it away agriculturally.
Salah seems to have three men round him all the time.
Lots of singing from the home fans now.
United pushing their players into the box now, with Lukaku going wide to lash in a cross towards Rashford at the far post.
Rashford cuts in behind Matip but Alisson is quick to respond.
Pereira involved up the other end and seems to fancy taking a corner. He doesn't, though, and it's cleared quickly.
Henderson runs down the right but can't get the final ball in as Pereira deflects it out for a corner.
It's swung in, Pogba gets his head to it, but he's about a yard offside.
Free kick to United after a challenge by Fabinho on McTominay.
Salah gives away a free kick and looks round in disbelief.
Rashford came out applauding the crowd and seemed to be moving better. Maybe a bag of ice cubes has helped him at half-time.
Second half under way! Will we have enough personnel to finish the match?
HALF-TIME. Well, not a great deal in the way of chances, but amazing half if you like substitutions.

Robertson gets some treatment and looks rather dazed, but is at least still in one piece.
Lukaku throws himself at the ball coming in at him, lurking at the far post, and lands on the man marking him. Nasty landing.

Alexis Sanchez is the next man on.
Lingard staggers off and looks like he's about to cry.
And Jesse Lingard has now fallen to the floor. He's been rushed back to the match and isn't going to be able to continue, surely.
Lingard is trying to walk the ball into the net, but Alisson gets down low and his left glove nudges the ball out of the way.
CHANCE! Pogba lets fly, Van Djik gets his head in the wya, but it looks like Alisson anticipated it all in time and would have got there regardless.
Salah races into the box looking for a quick one-two but a forest of United legs put paid to that.
Sharper eyes than mine spotted Rashford being given some painkillers - so presumably he's going to play on for the time being as comrades fall around him.

Firmino launches himself at Smalling as well as the ball, and United get a free kick.
Jurgen Klopp looks incredulous at his own players making a series of terrible crosses.

The corner comes to nothing, Salah breaks down the right, and then Milner puts in a challenge that leaves Pogba pretty much over the proverbial stand.
United break, and Rashford is moving a little gingerly still as he puts in a cross towards Lukaku at the back post. Van Dijk puts it out.

Firmino plays in Robertson beautifully, but his low hard cross goes fizzing across the face of goal with nobody to meet it.
Marcus Rashford is limping after a strong challenge a few minutes ago.
Salah smacks it right over the bar. That's shockingly poor.
Matip zig-zags towards the box where Herrera shoulder-charges him on the edge. Free kick.

Lots of prone players in and around the centre circle, but the free kick goes to the visitors.
United are even taking some risks with their defending in the box, playing some short passes and not feeling pressured.
United coming more into it now, building possession from the back.
Vague chance as Rashford tries to shoot but seems to lose his balance just as he strikes it.

Henderson and Salah are exchanging some tentative passes down the right.
A couple of touches and then Milner smacks it into the shins of the wall.

United open with a long ball forward, claimed by Alisson, and Liverpool break. Young panics, playing a too-short pass back to De Gea, and Firmino is waiting to pounce.
