There's the whistle it's 4-1 to the visitors who take their eighth consecutive league vitory, with Jamie Vardy scoring in each of those matches. A deserved win.

We have three minutes of added time to play here and you'd imagine Villa can't wait for this to be over.

Villa are playing to the end here. It will not make any difference to them at this stage, event if htey had been awarded a penalty they're currently appealing for. A disappointing match for them.

El Ghazi is still trying to find another goal for his side, but he's not been able to do so. He's wide of the goal now.

Ben Chilwell will come off now, replaced by James Justin for the last ten minutes.

Schmeichel forced into action after a corner from El Ghazi. He punches it clear.

Matt Targett has had to leave the pitch and is replaced by Guilbert after they finally get a break in play. Some casualties for Villa today - not what they need.

it's 4-1 now to the visitors, in case you've lost count.

GOAL! Jamie Vardy is the one to do it. A swift counter-attack there after El Mohamady's corner meets no one at the other end of the pitch. It's one-on-one as he out-runs his opponents and slots the ball past the keeper. Lovely stuff.

Leicester are keeping the pressure on Villa now, there could well be more goals here today, though sadly, I think they will not be from the home side.

McGinn fouls Maddison moments later and there's a free kick for the Foxes 30 tards or so out.

Jamie Vardy is hoping for another party today as he goes on the counter-attack. He passes the ball back to Maddison who has a clear path, but he's just shy of the goal as he fires wide of the post.

Not sure what that was from Maddison who boots the ball from some way out. It doesn't dip as he might have expected and it's way off target.

El Ghazi puts the visitors under a bit of pressure at last. There's a corner and Wesley - bit heavy handed today - catches Soyuncu no the back of the head in the ensuing crush.

Iheanacho is coming off, possibly for the best after that, or perhaps Rodgers just wanting to mix things up a bit, Harvey Barnes comes on.

Engels is brought down by Iheanacho and recieves some treatment. There's certainly been quite a lot of action in this game.

Nkamba is off now, replaced by Trezrguet, just as another yellow card is shown, this time to John McGinn.

Bad news for Villa, and overlooked by myself in the earlier comments - Southampton are in fact also playing today, and they've just gone a goal up against Newcastle. A win - or a draw - for them today would see Villa plunged into that relegation zone.

Frustration is setting in a bit here at Villa Park with tempers fraying a little in the home side.

Targett has gone in way too haevy with a late tackle on Ricardo. He's pretty lucky to get a yellow card, in my opinion.

GOAL! Jonny Evans heads the ball in the back of the net from a corner into the box. 3-1 to the visitors.

Villa are back fighting as El Ghazi has a crack. Schmeichel is forced into action.

Wesley, we are just learning, was booked right at the end of the fisrt half. No, unbelievably not for his beard, but for shoving Kaspar Schmeichel in the back of his goal.

We're back underway at Villa Park where Leicester City are 2-1 up.

VAR spends a bit of time loking at the goal but it is given and the whistle blows shortly thereafter. We finish halftime Villa 1-2 Leicester.

GOAL! It's not pretty after Villa take a corner as any number of Villa players scrabble to get a touch. It's Jack Grealish who strikes from the edge of the area and finds the far bottom corner.

Ndidi heads the ball in from McGinn behind the goal.

Grealish is fouled again and Ricardo gets a yellow card for his efforts. A free kick to Villa on the stroke of halftime.

We've two minutes of added time to be played now.

It's been a lively first half. Villa may feel Leicester don't really deserve to be two goals to the good, but the Foxes made the best of the chances they've had, so far.

Hard to tell if it's Iheanacho or one of the Villa defence he is shrouded by, but it is the Leicester-man who gets the credit.

GOAL! Maddison drills the ball accross to Iheanacho who taps it in the back of the net to give Leicester a 2-0 lead.

Grealish strikes but it deflects off Tielemans who takes some speed off it. Schmeichel prevents the corner.

Iheanacho is now shown a yellow card for a two-footed tackle on Targett. Targett is getting seom treatment now.

Marvelous Nakamba is booked for a late challenge on Ndidi. It doesn't look intentional but it is undeniably a foul.

Another free kick for Leicester now, Heaton manages to deal with that but now Targett is on the floor.

Douglas Luiz hits the floor but I'm pretty sure it wasn't Ricardo's fault. Oh well, another free-kick for Villa says Michael Oliver. It's squandered however.

Nonethless the home side are under the cosh at the moment as Leicester seem to smell blood.

Grealish is putting in quite the shift today as captain. He's all over the pitch, impressive pace on him.

Villa have a corner but it's fair to say it's deployment is underwhelming at best.

Jamie Vardy is in a dangerous position again but Villa are on it, this time. Quite possibly VAR would have found him to be offside, in any case.

El Ghazi has a crack now from a free kick just outside te box. He's waiting and gets his head to it but he's just off.

Mings is stretching again and he wasn't particularly helpful in the run-up to that goal. He's coming off now and that should have happened three minutes ago, frankly. He's replaced by Engels.

GOAL! An absolute howler by the Villa defense puts Jamie Vardy in front of an open goal thanks to an assist by Iheanacho.

Engels was getting ready to come on then but Mings is going to play on for now. He doesn't look massively comfortable though, I think it's fair to say.

Tyrone Mings is on the floor, looking to have pulled a muscle. It's not an ideal start here - will Mings have to come off already?

It's a free kick for Villa now after El Ghazi is fouled. It's no the edge of the area, the near side of the 18 yard box. Targett is, ironically, off target - bit too much power on the ball as it heads north of the bar.

From the far edge of the 18-yard box, Maddison fires but Villa clear it. Ricardo Pereira nmakes a brief interception but Villa regain possession and go on the counter-attack. Good pace so far, in this match.

Tyrone Mings is shown a yellow card for bringing down Pereira. Another free kick on the edge of the area.

End to end football here as Villa take their chance, El Ghazi can't quite make of it what he should as the ball finds the bar.

Little tussle there between Luiz and Praet gives Leicester a free kick from about 30 yards out. The ball finds it's way into the arms of Heaton who looks almost stunned.

Good chance for Villa and a well-timed pass by Grealish, but Evans taps it away before anything can come of it. There's a corner for the Villains but no cigar.

That looks horrible, visibility is going to be affected by that and you can now see how windy it is, too.

The heavens have opened at an already chilly Villa Park as some sort of hailstorm descends on the players.

Chance there for Leicester, a good ball in by Iheanacho which Maddison can't get past Heaton. Iheanacho again chips the ball over to Vardy, but it's no match for the keeper.

Ricardo Pereira has made his mark early on - on Douglas Luiz, that is. A goal kick for Villa.

Villa have opened strongly, good pressing start.

That's the whistle and we're off.

Before that we'll pay tribute to Ron Saunders, and some of his former players are present on the pitch for this.

We'll find out shortly as we are moments from kick-off now.

Villa have had some good performances at home this season, so they'll be hoping to use Tyrone Mings and Ezri Konsa to put some pressure on, especially in light of yesterday's sad news, but it will be a tall order to beat a rampant Leicester, today.

It's a precarious position to be in, but fortunately for them - and largely thanks to Leicester, in fact - that goal difference is quite the gulf between them, with Southampton on a whopping -16. Leicester would have to beat the record-breaking defeat they exacted on Southampton for Villa to fall into 18th place, today. Though a win could see them lifted as high as 14th.

As they were last time these two teams met, Vila find themselves at the other end of the table to Leicester, today. They're just above the drop zone, with only goal difference holding them there.

Leicester are looking for their eighth consecutive league win today, and also to extend their breakaway from Manchester City in third place. After City's defeat yesterday they're three points clear in second place on the table, but they could extend that to six today.

The flags at Villa Park are flying at half-mast today after the sad news of the death of former manager Ron Saunders, yesterday. Saunders led Villa to the First Division title in 1981.

For the visitors Ben Chilwell, Kelechi Iheanacho and Dennis Praet return to the starting XI.

Dean Smith makes two changes for the home side as Anwar El Ghazi returns from a knee injury to claim his place in the starting XI. It's Trezeguet who drops back to the bench to make way. Douglas Luiz replaces Conor Hourihane.

Aston Villa: Heaton, El Mohamady, Konsa, Mings, Targett, Nakamba, El Ghazi, Douglas Luiz, McGinn, Grealish, Wesley. Subs: Lansbury, Hourihane, Trezeguet, Engels, Guilbert, Nyland, Kodjia // Leicester: Schmeichel, Ricardo Pereira, Evans, Soyuncu, Chilwell, Ndidi, Praet, Tielemans, Maddison, Iheanacho, Vardy. Subs: Justin, Morgan, Gray, Albrighton, Ward, Barnes, Perez.
