FT: Everton 0-0 Liverpool. The Reds edge a point closer to that PL title despite a frustrating evening at Goodison. Everton came closest to a winner when Davies hit the post 10 minutes from time. Liverpool are now 23 points clear of Man City, who play Burnley on Monday.
- OffDominic Calvert-LewinEverton
- OnMoise KeanEverton
EVERTON CHANGE: Calvert-Lewin off, Kean on.
Fabinho curves the free kick over the wall, but Pickford reaches up and tips it behind.
Are we heading towards a stalemate? Or will we have late drama? The Ox wins a free kick 25 yards out....
- OffAlex IwobiEverton
EVERTON CHANGE: Iwobi off, Bernard on.
- Yellow cardDivock OrigiLiverpool
Origi booked for a late challenge on Coleman.
Everton are suddenly posing a lot of questions. Richarlison ghosts into space down the left, but can't beat Alisson from a tight angle.
OFF THE POST! Tom Davies sees a follow-up hit the post after Alisson had palmed Calvert-Lewin's flick into his path.
Do Liverpool have one big chance in them in the final 15 or so?
- OffJoel MatipLiverpool
- OnDejan LovrenLiverpool
LIVERPOOL CHANGE: Matip off, Lovren on.
Matip is back on his feet, but he's hobbling a bit as play resumes and will surely be coming off. Liverpool running out of time to pick up the win.
Matip is down holding his right knee. Klopp watches on with hands on hips.
DID YOU KNOW? Origi has scored five goals in seven games against Everton in all competitions. He needs one goal to draw level with Robbie Fowler's Merseyside derby total of six.
- OffRoberto FirminoLiverpool
- OnDivock OrigiLiverpool
LIVERPOOL CHANGE: Origi on for Firmino.
- OffNaby KeïtaLiverpool
- OnGeorginio WijnaldumLiverpool
LIVERPOOL CHANGE: Wijnaldum on for Keita.
Ha - harsh!
Alexander Arnold steps up but sees his curling effort deflect wide.
- Yellow cardLucas DigneEverton
Digne booked for sliding in to a tackle on Mane. He goes in the book and Liverpool have a free kick in a central position 23 yards out.
Everton break at speed and send Richarlison through. The Brazilian drives into the box under pressure and lashes just wide.
- OffAnthony GordonEverton
- OnGylfi SigurdssonEverton
EVERTON CHANGE: Sigurdsson on for Gordon.
Van Dijk meets a right-wing corner but can't find enough power and direction to put the ball beyond Pickford.
There's no doubt Liverpool have looked the more likely. Everton have offered little going forward since that very early Richarlison cross-shot.
Keita plays a high quality one-two with Firmino to open up the Blues, but skews a tricky volley wide of target.
STAT: Liverpool have lost their last three away from home in all competitions - the last time that was extended to four was in January 2011.They have not gone four away games in a row without a goal since September 2006.
DID YOU KNOW? Since the goalless draw at Goodison last year, Liverpool have failed to score in just one of the last 38 league outings - the loss at Watford in their last away match.
- OffTakumi MinaminoLiverpool
- OnAlex Oxlade-ChamberlainLiverpool
LIVERPOOL HT CHANGE: Minamino off, Oxlade-Chamberlain on.

KICK OFF! Everton get us back underway.
- End of 1st Half
HT: Everton 0-0 Liverpool.
Two minutes added.
Liverpool threaten deep in Everton territory. Mane cuts it back for Minamino, but the forward sees his shot blocked after engineering a yard of space with a neat touch.
VIDEO: Firmino fires wide.
- OffJames MilnerLiverpool
- OnJoe GomezLiverpool
LIVERPOOL CHANGE: A blow for the Reds as the injured Milner is replaced by Gomez.
Alexander Arnold curls the resulting 25-yard free kick over the wall, but it's easy enough for Pickford to deal with.
- Yellow cardMichael KeaneEverton
Keane fully deserves his yellow card for hacking down Mane in full flight.
STAT: Firmino has failed to score in any of his nine Merseyside derby appearances in all competitions.
Henderson leads a Liverpool break with a surging run through the middle. The ball is worked to Firmino, who can only drag a good chance wide from 18 yards.
Everton respond with their own free kick from the right, but Richarlison flicks a header just over the bar. Replays show he had ventured offside, so it wouldn't have counted had he found the net.
CLOSE! TAA whips a right-wing free kick into the middle for Matip, but the Reds defender can only guide a big opportunity wide.
Got to love a mad stat!
The game resumes. It could really use a goal. Liverpool are enjoying most of the ball, but we've not had much in terms of goalmouth action.
Play has been briefly halted while the players take a drinks break.
- Yellow cardJames MilnerLiverpool
Milner is the first player to be cautioned.
STAT: Everton's tally of 18 points under Carlo Ancelotti has only been bettered by Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United during the same period.
Liverpool have edge the first quarter of an hour, but the game is lacking a bit of intensity. Not really surprising without the fierce passion of the crowd to raise the adrenalin.
Liverpool try to be cute with a 25-yard free kick. TAA arcs it in-behind instead of shooting - but none of his teammates make the right run and it flies harmlessly out of play.
Milner and Klopp have both mentioned that Minamino has looked sharp in training and he almost gives a taste of what he can do, with a 20-yard pile-driver that flashes just past the upright.
A slick move down the left sees Liverpool spring Firmino free on the left of the area, but his cut back towards Minamino is well cleared.
DID YOU KNOW? Everton have not won the second league Merseyside derby of a season since 1987-88. Back then they claimed a 1-0 victory at Goodison Park.
Liverpool are first to show, but Alexander Arnold's low cross from the right deflects into the grateful arms of Pickford.
Everton respond and Richarlison sees a dangerous cross-shot from the left side of the area just evade Calvert-Lewin at the far post.
- 1st Half
KICK OFF! Liverpool get this Merseyside derby underway.
DID YOU KNOW? Ancelotti (Real Madrid, Napoli) has won all three competitive home matches as a manager versus Jurgen Klopp (Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool), by an aggregate score of 6-0.
STAT: Liverpool are unbeaten in 21 games versus Everton in all competitions (W11, D10). That's a record run without a loss for either team in this fixture.
That's some stat.
Mike Dean takes charge of his third Merseyside derby this evening. He was in charge of Liverpool's last win on this ground in December 2016 (1-0). He was also in the middle for the league clash earlier this season which Liverpool won 5-2 at Anfield.
Carlo Ancelotti on why his side trained on the pitch: "It was organised to give the players the feeling of being at Goodison Park without the crowd. To check the pitch, with the new grass. It was a good training session and the intensity of the game was good."
Iwobi on Everton's poor derby record: “We have to accept it is not a great record but hopefully we can change it. We are on our own turf, even if there are no fans, and we do not need any more motivation. We haven’t had a proper game to prepare, but neither have Liverpool. In a derby, everyone has to be willing to put in the hard graft.”
Klopp: “I don't know if we are 100% but Everton have had the same time [off]. It is all about being ready to face problems in a game and finding solutions. In nine weeks not doing anything you can lose almost anything. The players trained every day but we don't train them for a specific moment as we had no idea until a week before that training would start again.”
It's a long time ago, but Everton have made three changes from the side that were thumped 4-0 at Chelsea on March 8. Alex Iwobi and Seamus Coleman return, but the big news is that 19-year-old Anthony Gordon makes his Premier League bow.

Hello and welcome to LIVE updates of the Premier League clash between Everton and Liverpool at Goodison Park. The 236th Merseyside derby will be taking place in somewhat surreal circumstances, with the sight and raw power of red and blue passion from the stands conspicuous by its absence as top-flight football continues its post-lockdown return.
Manchester City's win over Arsenal on Wednesday means Jurgen Klopp's men cannot clinch a first league title in 30 years at the home of their neighbours, but they can take a giant step towards it with a victory here. Everton will obviously be doing all in their power to ensure Liverpool get no favours from them. Kick off 19:00 BST.
