The Ox fires a hopeful cross towards Firmino. The Brazilian hangs out a hopeful leg, but that was always floating behind for a goal kick. More cheers from the United faithful.
Huge cheers as United win a free kick deep inside their own half after Liverpool had threatened down the left. The home crowd feel they are on for a big win here. And it would be deserved at this stage.
James and Rashford have provided a problem on the counter that Liverpool have never looked like being able to solve.
Fred rifles wide of the near post from the left side of the box. That was a neat move from the hosts. They look the more likely when they do spring forward on the break.

LIVERPOOL CHANGE: Lallana on for Henderson.
- Yellow cardFabinhoLiverpool
Fabinho booked for a lunging tackle on James.
United show they remain dangerous on the counter attack as Rashford drives towards goal and fizzes a low strike just wide of Alisson's right-hand post.
This is arguably the away side's best spell of the whole match. They are yet to carve out anything in this half though.
The ball drops for the Ox 25 yards out, but the midfielder drags his effort wide of target.
Liverpool probing but looking a bit toothless in attack.
James is back up and running after treatment too. Suggestion is he has broken his nose!
- OffDivock OrigiLiverpool
- OnAlex Oxlade-ChamberlainLiverpool
LIVERPOOL CHANGE: Oxlade-Chamberlain on for Origi.
James down again. Lots of suggestions of play acting, but he did take two hefty knocks too.

Liverpool are angry with referee Martin Atkinson once more. James goes down and the visitors break. The official then halts play to allow the United man to receive treatment.
Liverpool already looking better. Klopp will have no doubt read the riot act at HT.
This is a cracking stat.

HT: Man Utd 1-0 Liverpool. Rashford's controversial goal gives the hosts a deserved lead. Mane had a leveller ruled out by VAR for hand ball.
One minute added. What an action-packed finish to this half!
GOAL RULED OUT! Mane takes a ball down with a touch off his arm. He battles past Lindelof and fires beyond De Gea. It's initially given by VAR chalks it off.
Opinions are mixed on social!
Klopp is fuming. The replay did show a kick on Origi.
Origi appeared to be fouled in the build up there. VAR checks, but the goal stands.
- GoalMarcus RashfordManchester United
GOAL! The hosts lead. James escapes down the right and sends in an exquisite cross for Rashford to tuck in from close range.
Big chance for the visitors. Mane surges into space down the right. He wastes little time feeding Firmino in the area, but the Brazilian's first-time shot is far too tame and easy for De Gea.
United have scored just one first half goal in the last six games in all competitions. They will feel they need to make the most of being on top in this first half an hour or so too. Can they snare the breakthrough while Liverpool continue to struggle?
STAT: Four of the six most recent league encounters have ended in draws (three by a 0-0) scoreline. Prior to that, only four of the previous 36 showdowns had finished level.
Brilliant positional play from van Dijk as he gets in front of Pereira to sweep away another dangerous delivery from the right flank via the boot of Wan-Bissaka.
VIDEO: Wijnaldum's finish lacks the calibre of his build up.
McTominay drives through the midfield and flashes in a low 25-yard effort that is straight at Alisson. The United midfielder had James in space to his right there too.
No doubt that Solskjaer will be the happier of the two managers at this point.
Van Dijk is out-muscled by Rashford down the right. The United forward turns inside and feeds Pereira, who sees his 20-yard effort blocked to safety.
Liverpool are enjoying their best spell of the match so far. They have looked nervy but are slowly stringing some paces together to try and build some rhythm and momentum.
DID YOU KNOW? Liverpool are currently in their longest winless run at Old Trafford in the top flight since a 10-match streak between 1991 and 2000.
At the other end, Wijnaldum skips beyond two challenges but then fires straight at De Gea from 22 yards.
Pereira drifts into a promising position 25 yards out and opts for a weak shot that almost turns into a pass for Rashford. Liverpool survive after getting caught out by James's smart flick in-behind.
Liverpool finally carve out something of note as an attacking force. Mane nods Robertson's angled pass into the path of Firmino, who charges into the left of the area but then blazes a horrible volley well wide of De Gea's near post.
The home side are having a bit of joy down the right. They've already fired in a succession of dangerous crosses that Matip and van Dijk have manged to repel so far.
Will this chap be smiling come full time?
United being bright and positive in the opening exchanges.
There was lots of chatter about the United system following the team news. Lots of variations of a 5-3-2. It just depends how much of the ball the hosts have to be honest.
Liverpool fans highlighting 'six' as the number of times they've won the Champions League/European Cup. United fans seeing it as the number of occasions they've nearly won the title since 1990!
Head to head at Old Trafford in the league: Liverpool 16 wins, United 43 wins, 27 draws.
- 1st Half
KICK OFF! Man United start the contest.
A late change for United. Tuanzebe has dropped out of the warm up and the team. Rojo comes in.
DID YOU KNOW? Marcus Rashford averages a Premier League goal every 208 minutes against sides from the established top six, compared to one every 266 minutes versus other teams.
Klopp: "How much do I enjoy these type of occasions? A lot! It's the salt in the soup! They [Manchester United] said it - we are the perfect opponent. I don't think there are too many teams who want to play against us at the moment - it looks like Man United are the only one!"
More for OGS, who couldn't resist mentioning the fact it's almost 30 years since Liverpool last won the title.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: "I've never felt it [the United job] is too big for me. I'm confident in what we're trying to do and I'm confident in my staff. We do have a plan and we know that we've made some decisions that maybe in the short-term would harm us, but we know in the long-term will benefit us."
As pretty much everyone was expecting, David De Gea is passed fit to start for the home side. Aaron Wan-Bissaka comes in at right-back while Victor Lindelof also features in what appears to be a 3-5-2 system for United.
Good and bad news for Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp makes four changes from their last outing. Alisson returns from injury to replace Adrian in goal with Joel Matip also back to take his spot in defence. Captain Jordan Henderson also starts - but there is no Mo Salah for the visitors after he suffered an ankle injury in the late win over Leicester. His attacking berth is taken by Divock Origi.
