After the longest of domestic campaigns we have entered the final day of the Premier League season. No null and void, no points per game to work out, just one more round of matches before the season actually concludes on the pitch, albeit behind closed doors.
Since the restart Liverpool got over the line to confirm the title in late June, Norwich were officially relegated earlier in July, but relegation will go the final day on Sunday, July 26, while the race for Europe is going to August. Here’s what needs to be resolved…

Champions League: Shootout at King Power

Now Manchester City’s European ban has been overturned and they are sure of a place in the Champions League next season, there are just two places left on offer.
Who will finish in the top four?
Leicester’s defeat at Tottenham on Sunday allowed United to leapfrog them and Chelsea with their 1-1 draw against West Ham on Wednesday. Chelsea may need to beat Wolves on the final day to secure a top-four finish after they lost 5-3 to Liverpool on Wednesday.
Leicester host United on Sunday, with United needing a point to secure fourth spot and Leicester needing to win.

Arsenal make Europa League an unknown

Arsenal’s FA Cup semi-final win over Manchester City on Saturday means the Gunners can seal a Europa League spot by way of the cup.
Their 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa on Tuesday night means they now cannot finish seventh in the final Europa League spot, as they sit five points behind Tottenham in the Premier League with one game remaining.
If Arsenal win the FA Cup, then only fifth and sixth in the Premier League make the Europa League. With one of Chelsea, Leicester or United set to finish fifth, it is in Wolves’ hands to finish sixth, after they won against Crystal Palace on Monday to leapfrog Spurs.

Relegation: Three-horse race

Bournemouth are three points from safety with one game remaining, and so the Cherries have a slim chance of survival going into their match at Everton on Sunday.
Premier League relegation
Aston Villa, who face West Ham on the final day, must match Watford's result against Arsenal to survive.
A draw is good enough for Watford if Aston Villa lose. If both win, then Watford must beat Villa’s score by two goals.
Bournemouth have to beat Everton to stay up and hope Watford and Aston Villa both lose.

West Brom join Leeds in top two

Whoever goes down will be swapping places with Leeds, West Brom and either Brentford, Fulham, Cardiff or Swansea.
West Brom pipped Brentford to second spot on a dramatic final day while Swansea overhauled a minus-five goal difference to take the last play-off place from Nottingham Forest.
