FULL TIME: Burnley 0-3 Liverpool

Phillips has been excellent for Liverpool tonight. This was always going to be a physical test for the Reds and the central defender has handled everything Burnley have thrown at him.

A third change by Liverpool as Tsmikas comes on for the final two minutes.

There will be just three minutes of stoppage time played at the end of the match.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Burnley 0 Liverpool 3 (89 mins - Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain). The points are in the bag for Liverpool! Oxlade-Chamberlain shifts the ball on to his left foot inside the box and fires home a low finish at the near post! He beats the goalkeeper for pace! There was nothing Norris could have done there!

This will be a hugely important win for Liverpool. The three points here will be enough to move them into the top four, over Leicester City on goal difference. Three goals in it!

Change for Liverpool and Milner is on for Wijnaldum.

A third goal would really wrap this up for Liverpool. Burnley have made a good fight of this, but there is a sense that the home team are starting to concede here.

There’s no denying this has been a disappointing season for Liverpool, but finishing in the top four, and qualifying for the Champions League, would allow them to recover.

Liverpool will finish their Premier League campaign with a home match against Crystal Palace. Hodgson could be the only one who can stop the Reds finishing in the top four!

Klopp makes a change and Oxlade-Chamberlain is on off the bench. Firmino off.

Phillips stops the cross! The ball was heading for Woods at the back post, but Phillips did well to cut it out on the slide! He has been exceptional tonight at the back for Liverpool!

Dyche comes in for criticism for the way his Burnley team plays, but what an incredible job he has done at Turf Moor over the years. He gets the absolute most out of his squad!

Will Dyche still be at Burnley for the start of next season? He has been linked with Crystal Palace in the past and there will soon be a vacancy at Selhurst Park when Hodgson leaves.

First change of the match and Vydra is on for Cork.

PICTURE: Firmino put Liverpool ahead

Roberto Firmino of Liverpool with Burnley's Matthew Lowton during the Premier League match between Burnley and Liverpool at Turf Moor

After a difficult start to life at Liverpool after his summer move from Bayern Munich, there is a sense that Klopp is starting to get the best out of Thiago as his central midfield dynamo.

Robertson was picked in the Scotland squad for Euro 2020 today. Of course, it was expected given that he is Scotland captain, but the 27-year-old is key for his country.

Another player who might not be selected by Southgate for England’s Euro 2020 squad is Alexander-Arnold. The Liverpool right back was left out of the last England squad.

Tarkowski was previously linked with a move to Liverpool. The Burnley defender has enjoyed another good season, although it seems unlikely that he will be named in the England squad for the Euros.

Off the line! Inches away from a Burnley goal! Tarkowski wins the header at the back post, it was heading for the back of the net, but Phillips was on hand to head off the line!

Alisson does well! The delivery from Westwood on the left side was a good one, but the Liverpool goalkeeper was able to watch it all the way and paws away from the back post!

Salah pokes wide! Firmino plays the threaded pass in behind for Salah, he toe-pokes wide of the target, but the Egyptian believes he was pushed by Taylor. Hmmmm... maybe.

Liverpool need to be wary here. Burnley are enjoying a good spell in the match and a goal for the home side would change the complexion of the contest. They haven't won this yet.

Brownhill shoots! The Burnley midfielder, playing as a forward this evening, does well to create the space for the shot on the edge of the area, but Alisson makes the comfortable save.

PICTURE: Burnley have had chances

FC Burnley gegen FC Liverpool

This could be Wijnaldum’s second last game for Liverpool. The Dutch midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season and is widely expected to be on his way to Barcelona.

Liverpool's second goal!

The response from Burnley to losing that second goal has been good. McNeil gets a cross into the middle, but Westwood couldn't quite beat Alisson with his low shot on goal.

Mane has endured a difficult season for Liverpool. His finishing has been poor and there has even been a suggestion that he could leave the Anfield club in the summer window. He’s come up with a big assist tonight, though!

Alisson has had a few shaky moments this season. The Brazilian’s distribution has been poor in a number of games, but all has been forgiven after his winning goal against West Brom.

Chelsea’s win over Leicester City last night means Liverpool have their top four and Champions League destiny in their own hands for the first time in a long while.

Liverpool kicked off this match three points behind Leicester City in fourth place. If the Reds claim all three points, they will move ahead of Rodgers’ side on goal difference. They’re on course!

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Burnley 0 Liverpool 2 (53 mins - Nat Phillips). Liverpool have a two-goal cushion! Mane is played to the byline, his cross into the six yard box is deflected and spins up on to the head of Phillips and the central defender does just enough to squeeze the finish past Norris and into the back of the net!

Only the side netting! Liverpool construct a good passing move on the edge of the box, but Salah drags his low strike wide of the near post when he should have tested Norris.

PICTURE: Firmino found the net

Liverpool's Brazilian midfielder Roberto Firmino (L) celebrates scoring his team's first goal with Liverpool's Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Salah during the English Premier League football match between Burnley and Liverpool at Turf Moor

Penalty claim! Gudmundsson thinks he's been brought down inside the area, but the referee shakes his head and Liverpool survive. There wasn't much in it at all. Correct decision.

Wood looked to be in behind the Liverpool defence, not for the first time this evening, but his first touch lets him down and the Burnley forward has to wait for some support.

This was the opener...

Firmino's goal gave Liverpool a very important lead at the end of the first half, but the away side haven't been that comfortable. Indeed, Burnley have had some chances.

The second half is under way at Turf Moor! Liverpool have a 1-0 lead over Burnley!

  • End of 1st Half

HALF TIME: Burnley 0-1 Liverpool. Firmino's goal right at the end of the half is the difference between the two teams, but that doesn't tell the ful story. Burnley have had chances.

There will be just one minute of stoppage time played at the end of the first half.

  • Roberto Firmino
GoalRoberto FirminoLiverpoolGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Burnley 0 Liverpool 1 (44 mins - Roberto Firmino). A huge goal for Liverpool and it's Firmino who has found the back of the net! Robertson gets to the byline on the overlap, his low cross into the middle finds Firmino and the Brazilian finds the back of the net via the leg of Norris!

Robertson gets to the byline on the overlap, his low cross into the middle finds Firmino and the Brazilian finds the back of the net via the leg of Norris!

Phillips over the bar! The ball was knocked down inside the box from a corner kick, but Phillips couldn't get over the strike enough and it flies over the crossbar! A centre back's finish!

Tarkowski blocks! A good chance for Mane to find the back of the Burnley net to give Liverpool the lead, but Tarkowski comes across to make the flying block on the slide!

MCNEILL... denied! The Burnley left winger lets rip with a strike from just outside the box, but Alisson makes the save at his near post! This is a good period for the home side!

Brownhill was nearly in! The Burnley midfielder attempts to latch on to a header over the top of the Liverpool defence, but Phillips got back to knock the ball behind for a corner!

He should have scored!

Alexander-Arnold over the bar! Liverpool win a freekick in a good position 20 yards out from goal, but the set piece strike from Alexander-Arnold isn't enough to test the goalkeeper!

Liverpool are also without Henderson, Keita, Gomez and Matip. Van Dijk’s injury has been most devastating, but he hasn’t been the only problem the Reds have had to face.

Jota is sidelined until the end of the season. The Portuguese forward has made a profound impact at Liverpool since arriving from Wolves last summer, but he’s missing this evening.

There’s no Kabak for Liverpool this evening and there’s a growing sense that the Turkish defender has played his last game for the Anfield club. He’s only on loan from Schalke.

Nobody else can finish!

Well, Liverpool should be ahead by now. Woods should have also scored for Burnley, but the away side have had three very good chances to find the back of the net.

SALAH... over the bar! That should have been a Liverpool goal! Robertson's ball over the top is controlled by Salah, he's one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but somehow scoops over!

Thiago misses! Brilliant football from Liverpool on the edge of the box sees Salah play a one-two with Thiago, but the Spanish midfielder hooks his shot wide of the far post! Good chance!

That was a warning sign for Liverpool. It was far too easy for Burnley to get Woods in behind. It was a pretty standard ball over the top of the opposition defence. Poor defending.

Best chance so far! The ball over the top of the Liverpool defence saw Woods released through on goal, but the in-form Burnley striker somehow managed to shoot wide of the near post!

Salah has also been in good goalscoring form for Liverpool, finding the back of the net three times in his last four appearances. Despite everything, the Egyptain has had a good season.

Wood will give Liverpool’s defenders something to think about this evening. The Burnley striker has been in exceptional form of late, scoring eight goals in his last nine matches!

It must be said, after a lively start, this match has fallen into something of a lull. All very scrappy at the moment with neither side creating much in the attacking third of the pitch...

Standard protocol...

While Liverpool collected three points against West Brom, Klopp will need much more from his players to claim victory tonight. The Reds were pretty poor in the win at the Hawthorns.

Of course, Liverpool needed Alisson to claim all three points against West Brom at the weekend. The Brazilian goalkeeper sensationally scored a stoppage time winner from a corner.

Liverpool are starting to take a grip of the game, but this has been a more expansive performance from Burnley than we are used to seeing from them, at least so far.

Phillips and Williams start in central defence once again for Liverpool this evening. The pair have done an admirable job given that neither had played in the first team before this season.

Firmino shoots wide! Mane's backheel inside the box sets up the Liverpool number nine for the strike 10 yards out, but he scuffs his shot and Norris isn't concerned about that.

This was the early chance for Mane...

Meanwhile, Burnley have lost their last three Premier League matches at Turf Moor. Dyche’s side will want to snap that winless streak this evening. They are usually strong at home.

Indeed, the omens are good for Liverpool this evening. They have won five of their last six away matches in the Premier League. Can they make it six wins from seven this evening?

Liverpool come into this match on the back of three straight wins against Southampton, Manchester United and West Brom. Klopp’s side have built some much-needed momentum.

Liverpool have been a bit too slack with the ball at the back. This time it's Fabinho who gives it away, but Williams gets back to make the intervention. The visitors need to tighten up.

Scramble! Alisson had to make that save! There was a bit of a scramble inside the Liverpool penatly box with Salah prodding the ball towards his own goal! But the keeper saves.

Shot from Lowton! Wood recycled a cross into the middle, setting up Lowton for a shot just outside the box, but the Burnley full back's shot is blocked and the hosts have a corner.

It's been a lively start to the match at Turf Moor. Burnley enjoyed the early exchanges, but there is a sense that Liverpool are starting to turn the screw on the home side.

Chance for Mane! That was a decent opportunity for Liverpool to find the back of the net, but Mane sends his shot hopelessly wide from a good delivery into the Burnley box.

Tackle from Mee! Just for a moment it seemed that Salah was in behind the Burnley defence, but Mee did well to make up the ground to make the block tackle on the Egyptian!

A good start to the match made by Burnley. They have already slung a couple crosses into the Liverpool box with Alisson required to come off his line to deal with one delivery.

What sort of match will we get this evening at Turf Moor? Liverpool need all three points to move into the top four, but Burnley can be a difficult team to play against. Won’t be easy.

Not long until kick off at Turf Moor. What sort of performance will we get from Liverpool here?

Another goal tonight?

The Liverpool XI is pretty muh as expected. Still no sign of Henderson, Keita, Matip or Kabak for the Reds. However, it's still a very strong side from the visitors to Turf Moor.

Norris starts! There's no sign of Pope for Burnley this evening and so Will Norris starts in goals for the home side! He'll have some job on his hands against this Liverpool attack!
