Full Time

A fair result, ending a pretty disappointing game. Thanks for following it with us.

Fred shoots at goal from long range and Mendy opts to punch the ball away, a little unnecessarily in surely the last chance of the game.

McTominay had a chance on the break with a four on three in the box in his favour but he fails to find a team-mate.

Pulisic runs towards goal but fires high over the bar from the edge of the box.

James' cross almost finds Werner at the far post but a good interception from Lindelof in front of the German forward.

Maguire gets cautioned for an unnecessary challenge on Pulisic on the touchline.

Martial comes on for Greenwood who hasn't been involved a great deal, but has had little service in truth.

Ziyech is replaced by Werner. Do Chelsea go for the win now?

Good play from James, he beats Rudiger on the right flank and puts a dangerous ball across the six-yard box that Greenwood doesn't get to and Mendy initially fumbles, before gratefully gathering.

Kovacic has an effort from the edge of the box that De Gea is comfortably behind.

Good effort from Fred. Not the man you want to be shooting from outside the box but a good move from Rashford and Shaw set him up 25 yards from goal but the shot just doesn't curl enough.

Pulisic comes on for Giroud. Interesting switch.

Great run from Mount, fully 50 yards into the box and he turns McTominay but the Scot recovers to block his shot on goal.

McTominay curls a low effort from the edge of the box that Mendy saves well.

Fernandes had a chance to create an opportunity on the break but he fails to find Rashford on the left wing.

Chelsea having all the ball but not converting this into chances.

Rashford finds James well 25 yards from goal and the Welsh forward's effort is deflected wide by Christensen.

Chilwell raced into the left hand side of the area and pulled it back for Ziyech whose shot was just saved by De Gea moving the wrong way, and then Shaw blocked James' follow-up effort.

Hudson Odoi with ice on his left thigh on the bench.

Chelsea get us back underway...

Bad news for our hopes of a goal. Hudson-Odoi, the only real threat of a creating a goal, is coming off to be replaced by Reece James.

Half Time

A half devoid of clear chances with both defences on top. The only talking point really the non-penalty award where Stuart Attwell overruled VAR.

Fernandes on the break plays it square to Shaw who plays it back to him just outside the penalty area where the Portuguese star's dummy enables Chelsea to clear.

Good challenge from Kante stopped Rashford getting a shot at goal. Fernandes headed Lindelof's long ball into the striker's path.

Chelsea are caught playing out of the back and after Fred is dispossessed the ball comes to Fernandes whose effort is deflected wide of the goal.

Ziyech caught on the back of the bonce by Lindelof. He should be alright to carry on.

Hudson-Odoi really looks like the only outlet capable of creating a goal today. Other than a defensive mistake it is hard to see where else a goal will come from.

Another lovely cross from Hudson-Odoi and Giroud was slightly away from connecting with a diving header, ending up skidding into the post.

Awful kick out by De Gea finds Giroud 30 yards out but after controlling he slashes at the ball on the half-volley and it flies a mile wide (not literally).

Nice ball from Fernandes over the top to Rashford but he couldn't bring it under control and in any case he was just offside.

Lovely football there, Mount hit a crossfield ball to Hudson-Odoi, who played in Azpilicueta and receiving the ball back, perhaps inadvertently, he flicked the ball up and then volleyed just a yard wide of the far post.

Not the worst game but you can easily see the 0-0 draw earlier in the season being repeated.

NO PENALTY! I think the right decision but they have been given this season.

The ball clipped Hudson-Odoi's fist before he cleared following Mendy's punch and the referee is checking now for a penalty.

Rashford hits the target with a dipping effort that Mendy pushes away.

McTominay and Mount clash 30 yards from goal, both totally committed to the ball but the Scot got there just in front and Rashford now has a chance from 30 yards out. He scored from similar range at the other end of the ground before.

United on the break from the corner, Rashford tries to hook the ball over Chilwell for Greenwood in the box but the ex-Leicester full back heads away from danger.

Hudson-Odoi beats Shaw on the right flank but Giroud can't get a touch on his cross and Lindelof puts it behind. All Chelsea at present.

Mount exchanges passes with Ziyech before seeing his shot blocked by Lindelof.

Rudiger with an impressive 50 yard run down the left flank shrugging off opponents, but his cross into the box was poor and easily cleared.

Mount gets free down the left flank and puts in a cross to the back post but Shaw does well to head away in front of Giroud.

United get us underway...

Something has to give, United with the best away record going around and Chelsea yet to concede under Tuchel. Could easily be a 0-0 though. Let's hope not...

Chelsea are favourites at around 11/8, with a United win available at better than 2/1.

Thomas Tuchel says Ziyech is brought in because Werner needed a rest and he wanted him to play against Liverpool.

The always controversial combined teams. Looks reasonable this. Surprised to see Maguire in there. Perhaps his dribbles down the left flank get him the points to make up for his errors in his own penalty area.

The two sides played out a goalless draw last time out, and Chelsea have not beaten United in the league since 2017, albeit they came out on top in the 2018 FA Cup final and semi-final last year.

After resting players in the Europa League in midweek, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is playing a similar side to the one which beat Newcastle last Sunday, with McTominay in place of Matic and Greenwood chosen as the spearhead in place of Martial.

It appears Chelsea will play the same 3-4-2-1 system that served them so well in Madrid in midweek with Kante in for Jorginho, Chilwell playing instead of Alonso and Ziyech in place of Werner.

And this is the United xi who will take the field at 4.30pm.

This is how the Blues will line up at Stamford Bridge...
