Ings is through on goal but its a good recovery challenge from Zouma. I cannot keep up with this!
- GoalJannik VestergaardSouthampton
GOAL FOR SOUTHAMPTON! From Bertrand's set piece, Vestergaard puts it in from close range from Walcott's pass. What a comeback!
- OffTimo WernerChelsea
- OnTammy AbrahamChelsea
Abraham is on.
- OffOriol RomeuSouthampton
- OnIbrahima DialloSouthampton
Diallo is on for the Saints, as is Long.
- OffChristian PulisicChelsea
- OnReece JamesChelsea
James is on for Pulisic.
Ziyech has looked bright in his cameo appearance.
- Yellow cardOriol RomeuSouthampton
Romeo is fraction too late and chops down Kante and is booked.
GOOD SAVE! Walcott again is the architect pulling the ball back for Ings, whose drive is well saved by Kepa.
- OffNathan RedmondSouthampton
- OnNathan TellaSouthampton
Redmond has been quiet and makes way for Tella.
CLOSE! Walcott lays the ball off to Adams who drills a shot narrowly wide.
CHANCE! Ziyech's corner finds Havertz unmarked six yards out but its over the bar.
Ziyech has his first few touches on the ball, he slipped it into Havertz who played it wide to Azpilicueta, who drilled his cross across the penalty area but no one got on the end of it.
Decent spell of possession from Chelsea as they just wrestle back the initiative in this game, led by Pulisic's energy.
Ziyech is on for Mount. Makes sense to bring on fresh legs with the game finely poised.
Ziyech is coming on for his Chelsea debut.
Strange times we live in. Werner wanted the ball back quickly after it went out of play but it needed disinfecting first.
Saints have a corner after Kepa cannot keep the ball in play. The delivery is cleared to Romeu who lashes a volley high and wide.
Azpilicueta feeds Havertz who sends in a low cross but Pulisic gets in the way and it bounces off him for a goal kick.
No changes made from Lampard which is surprising given his side blew a 2-goal lead.
What an entertaining game, what an entertaining day, what an entertaining season we have had so far..
GOAL FOR CHELSEA! Werner is through and squares it to Havertz for a tap in for his first league goal for the Blues.
- GoalChe AdamsSouthampton
GOAL FOR SOUTHAMPTON! Zouma's header back to the keeper is a poor one. Kepa is second best to a 50-50 ball with Adams who smahses it into the net. Shambles.
Walcott feeds Walker-Peters who drives a cross across the box but no-one is there.
SO CLOSE! Ings lashes a low effort from the edge of the box narrowly wide, Kepa was rooted to the spot, there looked nothing on there.
The visitors are now pressing the entire Chelsea back four instead of just the fullbacks, which is making it a tighter game.
- Yellow cardBen ChilwellChelsea
Chilwell brings down Ward-Prowse after losing possesion, he gets a booking.
You expect Hassenhutl would have told his side more of the same but just shore up things at the back given how they finished the half more strongly. Ward-Prowse swings in a free-kick which comes off the back of Zouma but Kepa collects.
KICK OFF: Chelsea get the second half underway.
- End of 1st Half
HALF TIME: A brilliant Werner double put Chelsea in cruise control. But from nowehre, Ings reduced Saints deficit to 2-1 to cap off an enthralling first half. More of the same please..
The Blues look ropey at the back since that Ings suckerpunch.
Two minutes added on.
The striker has been quiet but he's made his mark, what a finisher.
- GoalDanny IngsSouthampton
GOAL FOR SOUTHAMPTON! Havertz gives the ball away, Saints pounce and its through to Ings who rounds Kepa and scores, easy as you like.
CLOSE! Azpilicueta's ball for Havertz is miscontrolled but Werner is onto it and blazes his effort over.
It's been a baptism of fire for Walcott on his second debut, he needs to track back more.
Bednarek lets Werner get goal-side of him again as Chilwell plays a ball over the top but this time Romeu deals with the danger.
Saints have looked more solid since going 2-0 down. Bednarek must be fearing being hauled off at the break though.
CLOSE! I predicted goals but I wasnt expecting this many chances. Chelsea win a corner, Chilwell's delivery finds an unmarked Zouma who header is parried.
Amazing skill from the German to control the looping pass, hold off Bednarek, lob McCarthy and then nod it in.
- GoalTimo WernerChelsea
GOAL FOR CHELSEA! Lovely ball from Jorginho for Werner who holds off his marker, lobs the ball over the keeper and nods it in.
SO CLOSE! Mount finds Pulisic at the byline and his cut back is blocked by McCarthy. Mount is nearly in again and slides in but Walker-Peters gets in a last-ditch tackle, great defending!
The Saints have too open although it has led to lots of entertaining stuff.
CHANCE! Sloppy free-kick conceded on the edge of the area by Chilwell on Walcott. Ward-Prowse's delivery is cleared by Zouma, Pulisic then blocks Redmond's volley.
Werner plays a first time pass to Pulisic inside the penalty area he looks to pull the ball back across goal but Vestergaard is there to block, lovely move. Saints clear the corner.
Walker-Peters is having a torrid time up against Chilwell.
Wener scored a similar solo goal for Germany against Switerland in midweek.
This one will count, the German has his first league goal for the Blues. Vesteggard was caught square but it was a brilliant run.
- GoalTimo WernerChelsea
GOAL FOR CHELSEA! Fantastic goal, Werner collects Chilwell's pass amd beats four defenders and lashes it into the bottom corner.
DISALLOWED GOAL! Lovely bending cross from Chilwell for Werner with a header but its correctly ruled off-side by about half a yard. He is still awaiting his first Premier League goal.
Saints are very attacking with the pace of Walcott, Redmond, Ings and Adams. We should get goals.
Adams should have have done better from there, he only had the keeper to beat and plenty of time and space.
CLOSE! First chance for the visitors. Walcott is fouled on the edge of the box but advantage is played and Adams' strike from 15 yards is blocked by Kepa's foot.
More slick football from the home side. Chilwell involved again, he finds Mount who releases Werner in the box but his ball across the face of goal cannot reach a teammate.
CHANCE! Saints are pressing very high on the full-backs which is giving Chilwell license to roam. He sends in a deep cross for Pulisic whose header goes over.
DOUBLE SAVE! Mount finds Chilwell in plenty of space and his low shot from 20 yards is beaten away by McCarthy but it falls to Havertz whose drive is then parried by the keeper!
Vestergaard goes long in search of Redmond on the left flank but its overhit, that will be an interesting duel with Azpilcueta.
KICK OFF: We are underway. Saints kick off.
COUNTDOWN: 5 minutes until kick off!
Following their 2-0 win at the Bridge last season, Southampton are looking to pick up back-to-back away league victories against Chelsea for the first time since 1985, a period when shoulder pads were in fashion and The Power Of Love topped the charts.
Southampton have had a mixed bags of results so far. After beginning the season with 2 defeats, they have won their last 2 with 2 clean sheets. And Ings is on fire.
Chelsea duo Havertz and Werner were both in impressive nick for Germany in midweek while Rudiger had a more torrid time.
For the Saints, Walcott makes his second debut for the club, 15 years after his first, replacing Armstrong who tested positive for coronavirus while Djenepo is out and Redmond is in.
Kepa is given another lifeline by Lampard with Mendy out injured while Ziyech is in the squad for the first time since his move from Ajax. Pulisic also returns while Silva is out after returning late from Brazil duty.
