CLOSE! Zaha bursts past Stephens, he is through on goal but fires it into the side-netting. Seconds later, brilliant save from Guiata to keep out Ings' glancing header from Walker-Peters' cross.
Vestergaard makes an error and gives it away on the edge of the box, Eze's cross is blocked for a corner. Palace play it short and its a goal kick.
There will be 6 added minutes, due to that VAR review.
Dann and Kouyate have been the two standout performers today.
The Saints have a free-kick around 35 yards out. Ward-Prowse's but it's high and not particularly handsome.

Shane Long is on for the Saints now, final throw of the dice.
GOAL DISALLOWED! Zaha runs onto a long ball and coolly tucks it into the net. But he is just off-side.

Eze is getting ready to make his Premier League debut.
- OffWill SmallboneSouthampton
- OnMoussa DjenepoSouthampton
Djenepo is on for Smallbone, who has been impressive.
CHANCE! Ayew is fouled and its a free-kick. Its a brilliant ball in from Milivojević and an unmarked Kouyate's tame header is straight at the keeper.
- OffJames McCarthyCrystal Palace
- OnLuka MilivojevicCrystal Palace
Milivojevic is on for McCarthy.
CHANCE! Ings is tripped on the edge of the box by McArthur and its a free-kick. Ward-Prowse's swinging effort is narrowly over, decent effort.
Palace have an option of bringing on fresh legs up front with Eze or Batshuayi for the remaining 20 minutes.
Smallbone fires in another cross, it falls to Adams who goes down in the box from Kouyate's challenge but that is not a penalty. He just appeared to stumble.
The compact defending from Palace, with 7 players in the middle of the park, continuing to work well for the hosts. They look well drilled.
Good defending from Vestergaard to clear it behind for a corner. Ayew and Zaha were free for a tap in. McCarthy's delivery is gathered by the keeper.
Ward-Prowse steps across McCarthy and the Palace defender is booked for a foul.
CHANCE! The Saints are certainly looking more of a threat now. Ings' turn and shot is blocked, Moss plays the advantage for a foul on Adams to allow Ings to put in Redmond but he skews his effort wide.
TOP SAVE! Vestergaard heads it down to Adams whose powerful drive is parried by the keeper.
RED CARD OVERTURNED! Moss jogs off to have a look at the replay on the monitor. He has now overturned the decision to a yellow which makes sense.
RED CARD! Walker-Peters is off for a high boot on Mitchell's foot near the halfway line. Looked a bit harsh.
Lovely low cross in from Walker-Peters across the face of goal but no-one is there to tap it in. Bright start from the visitors.
CHANCE! Lovely move from the Saints. Adams to Ings who tees up Redmond's whose team shot in the box is straight at the keeper.

KICK OFF: The 2nd half is underway. Vestergaard is on for Bednarek.
- End of 1st Half
HALF TIME: A goal from Zaha from a counter attack has given Palace a 1-0 lead at the break. The home side have slowly grown into the game while the Saints have tailed off after a bright start.
Dann heads a cross behind for a corner. And it's Dann there again to head away the set piece.
There will be 2 added minutes.
Hasenhuttl needs a tactical change in the second half or perhaps a change in personnel. Saints look like they are running out of ideas.Redmond and Adams have been anonymous.
- Yellow cardJeffrey SchluppCrystal Palace
Schlupp is booked for an earlier infringement.
Southampton appeal for a penalty when there is a coming together between Smallbone and Mitchell but Moss waves it away correctly.
Palace continuing to have the better of Southampton's long balls into the box. Ward-Prowse and McCarthy have a bit of a shoving match after a feisty challenge by the Palace man.
Nice slick passing move from the home side. Its switched to Zaha but he overruns the ball. That was a disappointing ending.
Interesting debate on Zaha's consistency.
Stephens is penalised for a foul on Zaha around 40 yards out. Townsend fires in a brilliant ball to Kouyate who slides in but he is off-side.
Adams in particular and Ings have not had much service so far.
CHANCE! Smallbone's deflected cross falls for Ings whose header from a tight angle is saved at the near post.
The Saints are struggling to break down Palace's compact defending with ten men behind the ball. They need to up the tempo perhaps with their passing game.
CHANCE! Palace have a corner on the left. McCarthy's delivery finds Dann whose glancing header is parried but Ayew is flagged off-side.
We have reached the midway point of the half and Palace have been clever with their limited possession. A quick throw in releases Schlupp whose low cross cannot find a team-mate.
Southampton earned 23 points last season from teams above them in the table.
Palace are happy to play on the counter, trying to expose the Saints fullbacks. McArthur finds Zaha on the left but he is ushered off the ball by Ward-Prowse.
Among teams to have played in at least 10 Premier League seasons, Southampton have the worst win percentage on match day one, winning just two out of 21 (9.5%).
That was completely against the run of play. But Palace's counter attacking game worked a treat.
- GoalWilfried ZahaCrystal Palace
GOAL FOR PALACE! Romeu's pass blocked by McArthur, it sends Townsend free who pings in a cross for Zaha to volley it in at the near post.
Stephens is back on the field. The Saints have made a promising start.
Stephens has gone down and is holding his right knee after being caught accidentally by Zaha and is receiving treatment.
Some lovely one-touch passing from the visitors. A slick moves ends with Bertrand's cross being cut out.
Palace have their first venture forward. Townsend is free down the right but cannot find Zaha who was free in the centre.
As a fan of the Caped Crusader, I do like this video. Good acting by Batshuayi.
Palace on the backfoot. Bertrand's ball into the centre is dummied by Ings as he runs onto Adams' lay-off but Kouyate prevents him from taking a shot.
CHANCE! The Saints win a corner. Ward-Prowse's delivery finds Stephens who is unmarked but his header is straight at the keeper.
What a fine head of hair the 73-year-old has.
Jon Moss is the referee today.
KICK OFF: We are underway at Selhust Park.
COUNTDOWN: 5 minutes until kick-off!
Although this is their first Premier League meeting on the opening day, Crystal Palace and Southampton met on the curtain raiser in 2007-08 in the Championship with the Eagles winning 4-1 and James Scowcroft bagging a hat-trick.
Eze only returned from a groin injury at the beginning of the week so is only named on the bench. Hopefully we will see a cameo from the player who scored 14 goals for QPR last season.
Hodgson said: "We intend to use him the same way he has been used by QPR, as an attacking midfield player, especially one who is very good at coming from the line into central areas and making things happen.
"He gets into goalscoring positions, can score goals and certainly has the ability to beat players and find passes which will create chances.
"We don't have anything up our sleeve for him that we haven't seen already or know he can do.
"Our job is to make sure we integrate him into the team properly and give him the time he needs, so when he does come into the team, he can hit the ground running."
In terms of head to head, the Saints won 2-0 in January while last year there were two 1-1 draws.
Last season, which finished just 48 days ago, Southampton finished 11th while Palace finished 14th after a poor run of results.
Palace boss Roy Hodgson insists summer signing Ebere Eze is not Wilfried Zaha's replacement.
He said: "We have made clear all along there was no intention from the club to move Wilf Zaha on. "Realistically every year we have to face up to the prospect if a club comes in and makes a big bid for him, then we might not be able to keep him.
"We are pragmatic but there is no question we are signing the player (Eze) to replace him, we are signing the player (Eze) to play with him and make us stronger.
"I am looking forward to seeing him play and I am sure he will do a good job."
On the continued speculation over the winger's future, Hodgson added: "I suppose it is a little bit frustrating, it would be very nice to have Wilf with us without this little cloud that hangs over him of 'will he stay with us or do we have to wave goodbye to him'.
"He is very professional and I am surprised we don't get more people knocking on our door willing to pay a sensible price because he is such a good player."
