Everton took the decision to sack Rafa Benitez earlier in January, with the club down in 16th in the Premier League. The final straw for the Goodison Park club was the defeat at the hands of Norwich City. Frank Lampard is tipped to take charge of the Toffees in time for the FA Cup meeting with Brentford.

Frank Lampard will be the new manager of Everton, according to a report in the Telegraph.
The Chelsea legend emerged as one of the key contenders to succeed Rafa Benitez following his departure earlier in the month.
Wayne Rooney, Duncan Ferguson and Porto manager Vitor Pereira were among the frontrunners, although the former ruled himself out on Friday - saying he had work to do at Derby County.
Second interviews were held this week, and the Telegraph says Lampard impressed to the extent that the board have settled on the former England international.
Toffees owner Farhad Moshiri feels Lampard is the right man to steer the club away from the relegation zone and lift them up the table in the following seasons.
It is being suggested Lampard will be at the Goodison Park helm early next week.
Should Lampard take the reins, his first game in charge will be a clash with Brentford in the FA Cup.
While a cup run would be welcomed, the priority will be to steer the club away from danger.
Everton’s next Premier League outing is against fellow strugglers Newcastle at St James’ Park on February 8.
