Brighton deserved the victory which has been a while coming, but Brentford come out of the game with credit too. They never stopped fighting and with a bit of luck could have got something out of it. Thanks for following the match with us.

Wissa goes close...

He shoots from the edge of the penalty area and it has Sanchez scrambling but flies wide of the target.

Alzate takes a pass from Maupay and hits a curling effort bound for the inside of the far post but Fernandez dives to his left and parries away.

Lallana and Mac Alister are replaced by Gross and Alzate.

Brentford appeal for a penalty as Bech's pull-back was diverted behind by Lallana, who did appear to lean his shoulder into the ball but it is not checked.

Baptiste shoots from the edge of the box...

But it does not trouble Sanchez. It is not going to be Brentford's day.

He tries to dive over Lamptey's body to get a penalty but the referee censures him instead.

The ball drops to Lallana after Cucurella's cross drops to him 25 yards from goal but he shoots over the bar.

Off the line...

Great clearance from Cucurella after Pinnock's header was on its way to the goal after Sanchez's initial punch.

He replaces Thompson.

it flies low to the goalkeeper's right but drifts just wide of the post.

Another fine stop...

Pinnock got up highest to head at goal and Sanchez saved it just inside the post, hurting his arm crashing into the post in doing so.

Great save...

Baptiste shot from the edge of the area which deflected wickedly off Burn but Sanchez turned direction mid-dive and pawed the ball away from danger.

Webster goes into the book for a foul on Wissa.

Wonderful run...

Canos took the ball 60 yards from goal and raced to the edge of the Brighton penalty area before shooting firmly but not wide of the target.

Cucerella plays in Moder in the left hand side of the penalty area but from near the by-line he tries a very optimistic shot which flies high over the bar.

but his shot flies wide of the near post.

but cannot pick out a team-mate.
